Seems one must know what determines if/when a check can converted to an ACH withdrawal. Up to the payee? The payor's bank? Agreement between payee and payor's bank?

Re: Best way to determine value and sell old coins, currency
A coin shop will probably make you an offer on the whole thing but be aware they won't do it piece by piece, it just takes too long. If you're willing to do some of the work it will probably pay off with a higher return. Borrow a "Guide Book of US Coins" from your library, doesn't have to ...

I have a friend who dabbles in a different type of collectible who told me a similar story. Things were "for sale" but actually completing a sale was a chore. The guy would say he's not sure he's going to sell that thing, or he didn't know how much he wanted, or he would have to check and ...

Thats an excellent question. Are the items actually sold? Generally Ebay collects the seller fee which is probably close 15% when include you Paypal fees or whatever they use. I did a search of sold items on Ebay and there are dozens of $1000+ sales of beanie babies out of 45k successful sales so clearly the are some that still have value (somewhat to my suprise). I did a similar search and the results didn't make sense to me. Filtered on "Sold Items" (only), o...

Our 401k plan SPD only mentioned a $75 annual fee for an SDBA, no other details. I called the 401k custodian to get details, and they answered my questions on fees (commissions on trades) and sent me the documents to set it up. That's where I would start.

I bought a year-old Buick that had been a rental. No one wanting to rent some excitement would choose that car. It was solid for years, nothing that ever went wrong was something I could attribute to rental car abuse. I don't think I'd buy a former rental performance car, though.

Got a call today from a good friend. His family set up a charitable foundation a few years ago. So, make sure you know your company's track record on this issue before before giving too much advance notice. I stress this above all. Company culture will dictate what the best approach is.
