you could buy a wall safe to put in your home.. . if SHTF happens you might not be able to get your things from a safe deposit box....if its a natural disaster like a flood or earthquake or forest fire...do you think the bank staff is going to wait for you to get your stuff out before leaving for sa...

just my 2 cents on the rental property..while its great getting that monthly income sometimes it can be a pain...is your mother the one who will be taking care of any problems or you? and trust me there will be problems ..no matter how well you screen people your going to have some guy call you at 2...

I was about to ask about this subject,my 401k at work is with mercer and offers just a handfull of funds (mostly jp morgan) but there is a option of useing self service brockerage but i have to open the account at td ameritrade. it also costs me $20 per transaction...should i be useing this service ...

none ..you dont even know if you could get it zoned yet,,you would have to go in front of the zoneing board and if they say yes get it inspected for asbestos/lead/merc...sorry but you have too...insurance and bank would require it ill make this short and sweet, since i read this post ive been doing ...

when i said growth i meant slowly over the long term..i was going to put in atleast 30k and hold in it the fund for atleast 5 years if not longer..

or maybe ill just leave it in the jp morgan fund,,,maybe im not yet ready for such a change..

best way to prepare for early retiremnt

right now im putting 9% of my pay into my 401k..but knowing that if i am able to retire early im going to face penalties cashing it out ...do you think i should put as much as i can into my 401k or put it in something else and just let what ever i have in there now sit and hopefully grow??
