Looking into the Moomoo offer as I'm running out of promotions...It looks like the transfer offer is now a 90 days hold instead of the original 30 days from late 2023, but is still very attractive, compared to say, the 1 year hold at Tastyworks.
Have folks had any issues doing an ACATS out after completing the hold period? Reading the DoC threads, ACATS transfers in seem to be fine, but I don't see any transfers out. I would likely be doing both ACATS in and out with Fidelity.
Or if folks just have some general tips/watch-outs from their experiences with Moomoo, I'd appreciate them!

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
I first opened my Roth without any referral link/code. Went to the promotion page in the app and clicked "copy your code" to generate my unique referral. Shared this with my referral partner, who subsequently opened an IRA. My referee then went to the promotion page in the app and clicked "enter code" and copy/pasted my code in the page. A confirmation box then popped up that stated "You are eligible for triple rewards" and the enter code/copy code buttons were deactivated -- this happened in both our apps. Basically as soon as one person entered the referral code, both folks qualify. I then applied for my traditional. A Webull rep explained that once one IRA qualifies, all subsequent IRAs are automatically li...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
So far I am not impressed with Webull. I initiated an ACAT on their website yesterday to transfer securities from Merrill. I was slightly short of the threshold that I wanted to meet for the triple IRA bonus so I attempted to initiate another ACAT to transfer additional securities. There was no way to initiate a second ACAT on the website, so via a chat, I inquired why I couldn't initiate a second ACAT. They responded that there was no provision to do this. So I asked if I could send in a paper account transfer form. The response was that I had to wait until the first ACAT was completed as they could only process one ACAT at a time. That makes absolutely no sense. Why in the world couldn't they send through 2 ACAT's at the same time. Every...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
After several emails, chats, and phone calls with Webull for this offer, discovered they're allowing aggregation of IRAs towards the transferred asset tier. I mentioned I had both a Roth and traditional I am considering transferring and they immediately said all IRAs using their Omnibus clearing would be combined for the incoming asset value. Definitely more attractive as this enables me to reach the next tier up. In terms of order of operations, the referral code doesn't come into play until after opening the IRA. I was searching for a field/box during the application process but couldn't locate anything. When I reached out via chat, the rep explained the code is entered on the promotion page after account opening. I first opened my Roth w...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
Only thing not clear to me at this point is whether market losses during the hold period affect one’s bonus. I am guessing the answer is no effect but some of the examples are a bit unclear. I would ask customer service but I feel like their front line reps were making things up as they go with regards to unclear terms on their cash promo, as I asked multiple times whether equities count or only cash and got different replies. Section 7 of the rules quoted above states that "7. Eligible Customers must maintain the amount of any Deposit Reward or Referral Reward (minus any trading losses) in their Webull Brokerage Account for at least 90 days from the date on which the Deposit Reward or Referral Reward is credited to their Webull Broke...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
I opened a margin account at Webull this past weekend, and initated a partial account transfer of a single stock from my Fidelity account. I opend my Webull app tonight and noticed that the transfer "failed". No reason was given on the app. Very strange. I double checked my Fido account number which was correct. The stock symbol and number of shares were correct too. Can't reach Webull support. I called Fido and Fido says that they don't know anything about it, and I should check with Webull. Has anything similar happened to anyone here? Deadline for the transfer bonus is midnight tonight, so I intiated another transfer of a different stock from Fido. I'd email Webull customer service. Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
For folks considering the Webull offer -- one detail that's a bit peculiar in the Rules/Terms Offer Period: Oct 2, 2023 12:00 AM EST – Oct 30, 2023 11:59 PM EST. Qualifying Customers who make a net incoming Account Transfer(the value of cash and securities transferred to Webull less withdrawals or transferred as of January 29th 2024 11:59 PM ET) of $2,000 or more during the Offer Period (“Eligible Customers”) will receive cash reward as follows (“Reward”): It's not clear the transfer has to be performed in the October period. Also the bonus is determined by the final value on 1/29/24, not day 1 like most other brokerage bonuses, so market fluctuations will play a role. Just applied for an account, so will try to verify these details after a...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
Opened WF Premier Checking in branch today - took over an hour. Opened Wellstrade online - apparently takes a day to be finalized. Can't transfer cash or link external accounts and don't see an option to ACAT in yet. Also waiting for employer to approve the designated broker entry. In the past, Fido has denied me bonus as my employer is registered FINRA/exchange member. Never had same issue with any other brokers - so hoping this one will not be an issue as well.... Got online message today asking for notarized ID to be faxed for US residency verification for the brokerage account. 2 forms of ID were presented and updated in their system(including Real ID) when I opened premier checking in branch. Did anyone else have to do this? Who uses ...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
Looking for a decent brokerage to act as a temporary holding place for two IRAs until more bonuses emerge. ~$700k total. Basically any reputable spot that will reimburse ACATS fees, so I'm not seeking any bonuses. Just trying to move out from Merrill to reset the clock for next year. Hoping to consolidate these IRAs with some other accounts which have yet to meet the minimum holding period. I'm considering Etrade, but curious if they're as stingy with fee reimbursements after the Morgan Stanley merger? Prior to that, Etrade's generally reimbursed me, but often putting up resistance initially. I sent them a secure message just to get things in writing. Cheers At least a year ago, Merrill didn’t charge fees for partial transfers out. Not sur...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
E*TRADE to WF ACAT failed due to Etrade -> MS Conversion. I chose Etrade on WF end in the drop down and provided the new account number . Apparently it still maps tothe old Etrade DTC code(0385). WF support had not even heard of the Etrade to MS acquisition/conversion and kept insisting ACAT has to be initiated at the sending broker. Etrade didn't even get the request. I've put in a new ACAT transfer using MS(DTC code 0015) - hopefully this one works. Has anyone managed to do a ACAT out of Etrade since account was converted to MS? If yes, what broker/clearing code did you use? Yea, just did a transfer to Schwab. If I do a search for "Etrade", it shows as "MORGAN STANLEY (ETRADE) DTC 0015". Etrade notified me they're swi...

Same here, just did another Schwab match, $2k for $500k or $3k for $1M. Took a few weeks to finally materialize, but gladly prefer them over the start-up firms. Interestingly enough, no minimum holding period. Can you tell us more. Recent post suggest that the max for 500k is 1.5k, and only if assets are transferred from Fidelity and JPMC (chase). Are you transferring from those firms, and is this for taxable or retirement? Are you adding to an already large portfolio at Schwab or how did you get the no minimum holding offer? Two phone calls, two emails, no more than 10 minutes total. I just sent a rep the current Merrill/BofA offer of $3k for $500k -- directly from this thread. Wanted to consolidate two IRAs from Wells Fargo and Merrill. ...

done trying to play this game at schwab, had multiple phones calls and offers that started out extremely subpar for the amount of assets and rose to basic. One even seemed dismissive of one of the brokers and claimed they had never even heard of them before. Waste of time, hopefully decent offers will come back again. Don't take it personally. Let them be dismissive. They are sales people, and that is all. I'd rather go through a bit of hassle and get Schwab to match than have to use M1, but sadly they didn't get there for me this time. If they threw me attitude but matched, I'd still use them. Same here, just did another Schwab match, $2k for $500k or $3k for $1M. Re: Would you add Chase Private Client account ? help me consolidate
3) You have to maintain your investments for 90 days from coupon enrollment date (you have 45 days to transfer funds to JPM accounts). Chase will deposit your bonus directly into your account within 40 days. There is no requirement in "my offer" to hold $150k for 7 months after getting a bonus, double check the small print of your offer (and save it). Agree with everything in @VictorStarr's post. Just to add a bit to the 7 months point. For previous Chase checking account bank bonuses, the terms specified a minimum of 6 months, else potentially being penalized (i.e. they would claw back the bonus). Recently, this 6 month requirement has been removed from regular checking account bonuses. This 6 month requirement doesn't seem to h...

I haven't used any this year but old reliable merrill edge is offering $750 for 200k: https://www.merrilledge.com/offers/me750 I was googling for Merrill offers, and it turns out they have another offer that you can get by calling, with more tiers than the offer above: https://www.moneysmylife.com/merrill-edge-promotions/, scroll down to "Secret Merrill Brokerage bonus up to $7,500." I called and got $1K on $300K pretty easily on my (existing) rollover IRA. Holding period is 9 mos instead of 3 mos for the $750 offer linked above. Those higher tiers appear to be for Merrill brokerage accounts with advisors, not the self-directed Edge accounts. You might want to verify you haven't now agreed to an AUM fee... It should be available ...

For the Citi Personal Wealth Management offer, have any folks tried opening two accounts for the bonus offer — a taxable and an IRA?
Reading the Q3 offer terms, it looks like we’re allowed to aggregate two accounts towards the offer, such that the cumulative total now counts?
I did this offer back in 2020, but they only allowed taxable accounts. Nowadays, it seems they allow both a taxable and IRA, filed as "an exception"...

Was able to create an additional brokerage acct. at E*Trade (good tip again Gernaiumlover). Having them move a lot of shares into said acct. But, they are trying to say that there will be an acct. closure fee if I transfer that entire lot (in the new acct.) to another brokerage. I recently got a message from E-trade indicating that they would be transferring the account to Morgan Stanley and in the "Opt Out Process" section of the notice of changes, it was indicated that their $75 transfer fee would be waived if I opt out and transfer the account before June 2. Thanks for sharing this. Is there anything one needs to do to link the IRA/brokerage account to the Premier checking? Reading the terms of the offer, it repeatedly refers to the "qualifying linked accounts" I'll likely just open the IRA myself, but wonder if I need to do anything via an advisor or banker to make sure it's properly recognized for the purposes of the offer Can't answer your question because I haven't opened the account yet. I was planning to do this in-branch and have the banker arrange/confirm the link after transferring to WellsTrade. For the Merrill Edge bonus, language in the offer says "Assets transferred from other accounts at Bank of America, MLPF&S, Bank of America Private Bank, or 401(k) accounts administered by MLPF&S do not count towards qualifying net new assets", so I assume going: direct deposit/wire/ach Bofa checking -> new Merrill account for bonus won't work. Would this work? direct deposit/wire/ach to Bofa checking account -> ach to external brokerage -> open new account at Merrill and ACAT from external brokerage Yep, this will work fine. They wouldn't trace the funds back to the checking account. That said, if you're looking at the $250k cash tier, maybe consider the more lucrative Wells Fargo $2500 or Chase CPC $2000 offers

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
Public will very likely give you $2500 for that $250k if you live chat them, since you already did a transfer before 12/31/2022 Thanks for sharing this -- by live chat, do you mean sending them a message/email in the app? I don't quite see a "live chat" feature. And may I ask when you inquired about a second transfer? I did my initial transfer back in November, but would gladly consider another transfer Yes, messages in the app, I guess they respond quickly enough that I thought it was live chat. Whoops. They told me as long as I got my second transfer in by the end of Jan, I would get the old tiers, but that they would only do that because I got my first transfer in before 12/31. I said thanks, how about until the end of April? ...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
I've been consolidating my etrade and ally accounts along with my merrill edge taxable to garner bonuses: 1. 500k+ to public for 5k of which 2k has been delivered. 2. 100k+ to tastyworks for 2k which has been paid. 3. 100k+ to firstrade for 700 which has just completed the transfer and not paid yet. I still have a bit over 250k at merrill that I was planning to send to tradestation for 1k but I got a voicemail and email from a merrill rep to "discuss my account" so I replied to the email about this last transfer plan to see if they'll match it just to leave it which would be okay. Public will very likely give you $2500 for that $250k if you live chat them, since you already did a transfer before 12/31/2022 Thanks for sharing this...

Guessing it's an error on the social media ad. Clicking on the link takes me to their promo page, which states:jeffyscott wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 7:43 pmI didn't notice that before, but it looks like I'm not the only one. They've got a FB post that says it includes IRAs:

Eligible accounts include the following Brokerage Accounts: Individual, Joint and Custodial.
This offer does not apply to IRA Accounts (Traditional IRA, Roth IRA and Rollover IRA) and Entity Accounts (Partnerships, Corporate, LLC, Trust and Investment Clubs).

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
Just reporting the data point here that Tastyworks just paid me the $2000 bonus for $100,000 of ETFs transferred in last week. My 100k+ transfer just hit there so I'll look for the bonus soon and I have a couple more I'm working on that will effectively drain the taxable portion of my merrill edge account. Thanks for sharing -- may I ask if you folks signed up for the TIERED_2022 offer? I see they also have a TIERED_2023 offer which I found from DoC. I see the former (2022) mentions ACAT transfers qualifying, but not the latter (2023). Have you per chance participated in any previous offers with Tastyworks? I did their cash offer back in 2020, an account which I later closed, but have read of folks still qualifying with subsequent promotio...

I'd try calling again.
Did the $1k at $200k offer last year on a trust account. The phone rep had to get marketing's approval, but he matched the offer, albeit with a longer 1 year holding period.

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
I’d had a similar problem in 2020 but it seemed they were more concerned I’d gotten a bonus in 2019. Both times my assets were out of Merrill for about 13-15 months. Did you open a new account or add the promo to an existing account? The terms state a 52 week lookback period, which you easily cleared. The $1k offer earlier this year had an even shorter look back period of 24 weeks. I'd definitely fight this further. I had an issue with Merrill not paying out several years ago. I believe I emailed the CEO and he delegated the issue to a VP in customer service within a day. I've heard of others seeking remedy via complaints to the BBB or FINRA, as well. If you need a screenshot/copy of the Merrill offer website from this year, feel free to P...

Offer has returned, expiring on October 19, 2022 -- I'd recommend generating a coupon/promo code even if you're somewhat considering it, as Chase pulled the offer/website a month early last year. The already generated coupon won't expire until October

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
Is the TD Ameritrade NC1000 bonus still live? https://www.tdameritrade.com/client/referral/index.html Doctor of Credit shows it as expired for some reason. Would an ACATS transfer from Schwab be a qualifying deposit? I asked TD Ameritrade about this via Messenger and they replied that the bonus is live but transfers from Schwab aren't eligible. Details below. "That promotion is valid. The referrer would not receive a promotional cash award, but the new client may receive a cash award depending on the amount of their deposit. ... Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
Anyone recently done an account transfer from Schwab to TDA? Any transfer fee charged on Schwab side? Thinking of doing this to avoid $50 Schwab fee since e trade won’t reimburse me. Keep trying with etrade, they should reimburse, unless you're getting a crazy bonus, in which case $50 might be cheap. It’s only $100k being transferred, but others up thread have also mentioned not getting reimbursed. And I already have a tda Roth IRA with $5 remaining from prior ME bonus as TDA really doesn’t charge for partial transfers. I recently transferred over an IRA. Had no problem getting the Schwab $50 fee reimbursed, only caveat being the credit had to be into my taxable account, not the IRA Called once right before the transfer, then again after c...

Responded to your PM, but there shouldn't be any fees from Schwab to TDA, or vice versa. I've done several cash accounts and IRAs between the two, most recently in May.need403bhelp wrote: ↑Mon Jul 25, 2022 4:21 pm Anyone recently done an account transfer from Schwab to TDA? Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
I am studying Charles Schwab referral offer (https://www.schwab.com/client-referral). Can anyone please help with two questions? 1. In the offer QA question 'What accounts can be opened to get the Bonus Award?', it is stated that both 'retail brokerage accounts and individual retirement accounts (IRAs)'. Later, in the question 'See full terms and conditions'. it is stated that '...open and make a qualifying net deposit into an eligible retail brokerage account within 45 days of enrolling in the offer'. I have only Roth IRA assets to transfer into Schwab for this offer. I do not want to open a 'retail brokerage account' which I assume it is taxable. The term seems saying 'net deposit into an eligible retail brokerage account', but not 'Roth...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
If you search through this thread, or Bogleheads in general, there've been many of us who've done the Chase CPC offer. No tricks, really, just a bit of a hassle opening the checking account in branch, and perhaps having to do the same for the brokerage accountMrWasabi65 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 5:49 pm I received an offer today in snail mail, from Chase.
The offer is $2,000 bonus to transfer $250K worth of securities and cash to them in a Chase Private Client account.
That seems quite generous.
Any experience with transferring to Chase in a Private Client account? any tips or tricks to be aware of?
If I do this, I will be transferring from Fidelity, one of my brokerages. Would Fidelity match to keep me?
Thanks

Re: $500 Bonus for 10K Brokerage Deposit
[Merged into existing thread for brokerage transfer bonuses by Mod Misenplace] Saw a thread about a $100 Bonus for 10K deposit at Marcus Bank Tastyworks Brokerage is offering a $500 Bonus for 10K deposit https://info.tastyworks.com/opennow Insurance: https://support.tastyworks.com/support/solutions/articles/43000435324-sipc-protection I’m not familiar with Tastyworks. Any red flags to be aware of? Do they charge transfer fees and/or account closure fees if one wants to move money out and close the account after the 90-day qualifying period? I'd recommend a search in this thread. Quite a few folks have done it. Since it was only 3 months holding period, I just transferred in cash rather that ACAT'ing in securities. Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
I'm interested in doing the transfer bonus with M1 Finance. Have any folks done a promotion spanning multiple accounts ( individual, IRA, etc )?
In reviewing the M1 terms of the transfer promotion, it suggests the aggregate assets transferred would count toward the asset tier. Have any folks tried doing a multi account transfer such that the aggregate total spanning multiple accounts counted towards the total transfer?
I sent them a support email to clarify, so we'll see. But just wanted to see if any folks might have first-hand experience
Thanks

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses
I am a chase private client due to having some assets at the non-AUM brokerage account. I like the perks I get at Chase making the decision of leaving the cash there a good idea for us. <snip> 4) Quicker and easier access to a notary <snip> Just a quick FYI, it seems Chase has discontinued notary services in the several branches with which I've inquired (Northern/Southern CA and Las Vegas). Basically with COVID, demand for services dropped precipitously so most branches have maybe 25% of the bankers/staff they regularly have. Plus the concerns of face-to-face interactions involed in notarizing documents in light of COVID... Bankers who were licensed just let them lapse, and they currently have no plans to renew I ended up getting a documen...
