Re: New TV and a black screen

Okay, I’m gonna go way out on a speculative limb here. Part of the information exchanged over the HDMI cable is the resolution capabilities of the TV. The box and the TV do a handshake so that the box knows what resolution the TV can handle. If the TV had sound only, that suggests that the box was ...

Make sure your firmware is up-to-date. Re: New TV and a black screen

I would test another device and HDMI cable with your TV to make sure it's the TV and not the cable box or cable. It would be a waste to return the TV if it's not the problem. Knowing Comcast it's probably them. We have no other device to test with. Also, we have had this box for a few months. No pr...

Re: Should I transfer from TSP to borkerage IRA?

If I remember correctly... if your beneficiary is not a spouse then they have to take the lump sum (and pay taxes on it all) when you pass and are not able to do an inherited IRA and then stretch the RMDs based on their lifetime. If this is still true... then you might want to transfer some of it to...

You need to adjust the aspect ratio. Some newer TVs are set to 16:9, which is correct for newer content, but not for older content.
