Head of household status

Hello

Am I considered head of household if my domestic partner and our child live with me? I pay for most of the household expenses including mortgage and utilities. Can I change my tax withholding status in November?

Hello all,

Hi all

I want to buy a dishwasher in the $500 range or lower. What are some key features I should be looking at? Any recommended brands over others?

Edit*
Doesn't need to be water efficient

Trying to help my gf with 401k. For index funds she has sp500, russell 3000 and Russell 2000 as options. Is the Russell 3000 same as the Russell 2000 + Russell 1000 as I see in the boglegead wiki or would SP 500 (85%)+ Russell 2000 (15%)be the better option?

How do taxes work for rental income

Hi,

Question about rental income tax.
Let's say we have this scenario

Renting unit out for $1000

Maintenance = $500
Mortgage interest = $400

Is it as simple as $1000 - $900 = $100 then pay the taxes on the $100 in profitable income?
