I am back from my LUng Distance workout by the beach area. My mantra, stay mentally and physically active in retirement. After retiring I did my last 26.2 mile competition (running) and shifted from doing my daily LUng Distance Runs to doing my daily LUng Distance Walks. I do not have a time limit and I am no longer in a hurry, during my workouts I stop to have a conversation with somebody, anybody, or everybody about anything and about everything (this is making a big difference in my retirement life, this is keeping me injury-free which is the subject of this thread). I do all my walks with a backpack and a wooden pole (this helps to keep my knees injury-free), I carry the same things I carry on my camino. At anytime I can drive to the ai...

Welcome to the forum, your first post! Your three fund model is already included in one of the now famous three fund portfolio funds (total stock market index). Keep investing simple. Bed? Mattress? For what reason? Recommend getting one of these from your local sports store (get one made by Coleman, green color, for about $25 dollars). Use it at night anywhere in the house, fold it and put it on a corner out of the way during the day. Good luck, y gracias por leer ~cfs~

Any type of letter, with or without checks enclosed, I drive to my local Post Office where they will stamp it and mail it for me. Never had a plan to retire early. I gained my experience and money as an active duty military member. Over three decades in the US Navy gave me all the experience and all the travel I needed and then some. IF given the opportunity to do it all over I would NOT change a thing. I walk mi propio camino and I am too busy to follow him or anyone else, but I will not laugh at him. I will have to hit the mega millions lotto to come close to his bank account. He is the number 3 talk show host in USA (Hannity first, America's REAL Anchor Man second, Ramsey third), so, a LOT of people are listening to him. Listening to him and following his "investment advice" are two different things. Listeners have the option to follow his advice or to ignore his advice. Your money, your portfolio, your decision. Good conversation. I am not as sophisticated as Mister Peter (above), I have a very simple spreadsheet and I am using 4-5% real. My projection is based on metaphysics, extrapolation, and my proprietary cfs guessing indicators. Good luck with your projections, y gracias por leer ~cfs~

Warren is Warren is Warren . . . Note, I know a bunch of retirees with NOT a penny invested in bonds (some of them are members of this forum, names withheld to protect the innocent), their pensions including Social Security cover ALL their expenses and then some, so, no bonds, just equities and mucho cash. Yes you can. You can exchange $25k each year to Primecap or Capital Opportunity, and you can exchange as much as you want to Primecap Core. You can't exchange anything to Dividend Growth, it is close to new investors including flagship. Good luck y gracias por leer / cfs

"The ETF industry’s biggest ETF issuer doesn’t often shut down ETFs, but when it does, BlackRock’s iShares arm tends to do it in the summertime. iShares announced today that it will be closing 16 ETFs, almost all of them falling under the smart-beta rubric.
