I drive a 2000 Honda Civic with 125K miles, because it's cheap to own. I plan to drive it until the wheels fall off. The money I would otherwise spend on a fancy vehicle is going in my retirement accounts instead. :moneybag

I save 20% of my salary in my employer's 403(b), and have also contributed the maximum amount to my IRA each year for the past 25 years or so. Together, it's about 27% of my current annual income. I'm 58 and planning to retire at 62.

I don't know anything about DFA funds, but if passive investing via mutual funds, is all you want to do, then skip the advisor, open a Vanguard mutual fund account, and start buying and holding Vanguard funds. Working class background here. I've always had a little sense regarding money, but not a lot of investing sense, until I saw a Jack Bogle interview on TV. Mr. Bogle's approach to investing makes the most sense to me, so here I am: Vanguarding & Bogleheading! :mrgreen:
