Sugarland TX housing/schools

I might be accepting a job offer in Houston(Sugar Land) area. Hardly ever been to that area, so know very little. Plan to buy a single family home, with the hope it'll be our final abode until kids are gone to college (~10 years). 1. Is it reasonable to expect a 3/4 BR SF home, 5-15 years old in $30...

I'm in the two States camp - to tide over the weather extremes. Current choices are: FL in winter and WNC or Lehigh Valley PA in summer.

A decade ago was a period of well defined market crash. Today is close to all time high (really Sep 2018). So it's not fair to take these two points, and derive any conclusions. IMHO.

Keep in mind traffic woes, rising housing costs, hurricanes etc. Insurance costs are very high. Big component of population is low income level, hence a burden on school system and tax payers.

There are some professions that are not personality based, most everyone makes the same money there e.g doctors. Others are personality and skill based like engineering. Very little difference here, just checked on gas buddy and Costco is 3 cents per gallon less than next cheapest. OTOH, don't have huge lines like we did when we went to Costco for gas on a road trip in a place where it was significantly cheaper than every other station. Similar difference in our area
