Re: Airline compensation

We were suddenly delayed leaving Europe earlier this year on a US carrier. While looking up possible compensation, I came across AirHelp, which filed on our behalf. We received a significant amount even though they retained 25%.

I did the whole filing over their website.

Re: Painting Cabinets - Is it that hard ?

I refaced our cabinets. The boxes and insides were fine. I got new solid cherry doors, and stick on veneer that I cut into strips to cover the mullions. I think the whole thing cost me about $1500 (13 cabinets -small kitchen). I had gotten a price through Home Depot of $5000, but they were using che...

We have a Whirlpool. Frustrating to hear the 3 loud beeps when I'm standing right there. Found this on the 'net: Press and hold the "1" button till it beeps twice, (the keypad beeps will turn off). Then press and hold the "2" button until it beeps twice, (this turns off 3 beeps at the end). Then pre...

Occasionally T-Mobile has a deal on T-Mobile Tuesday where you can get an additional $.25 per gallon discount. You can just copy and paste the code into the app then get it when you go to Shell.

BTW, I enter my phone number at the pump so I don't need to have the card.

I hear that HSA's are a good thing, but this makes me wonder:

When you get medical care, say a blood test, the "retail" cost might be $300, but the insurance company only pays maybe $40-$50. If you pay out of pocket, don't you have to pay the full $300?

That will eat any HSA savings in a hurry.
