Treasury State exempt Tax ..futures?

I understand that Treasuries such as I Bonds & Treasury Funds are usually State and Local Tax exempt.

Do treasury futures and the gains therefrom enjoy this same advantage or is it just the proper Treasury funds and entities .

Thank you ... I presume 60/40 is for Federal ... do I also pay State tax too ... or is this like I Bonds and other standard Treasuries that are exempt from State and Local. Thank you again.

Was wondering about the bonds part of NTSX .. treasury Futures contracts

While treasuries are exempt from State taxes .. are treasury futures gains ( if there is such with these contracts) exempt from State taxes ?

it is trading now ...strange .. no trading until 9am approx. ... all daily balances were frozen until trading kicked in.

just a question please .... many here do not like psldx as it throws of income..bUT in you are in retirement and want income to live on ..would PSLDX in those specific circumstances be ok? or is the after tax return still not good enough .. thank you so much .

Dale I respect what you say but in this day and age .... companies need to provide superb customer service and 24/7 around the clock ... it is the norm and what is expected. Why is Vanguard still charging a fee to purchase individual stocks?

Will they not lose business if they do not stop this charging practice real fast? as people can get much more at Schwab ect ect.

Do you know if he had travel insurance? or was he relying on the medicare emergency medigap provision which I realize is not a large amount in monetary value.

According to this limited study ..... it worked out great plus it stopped you from selling in a panic.

I think the LEDGER would be my choice way above anything else plus it integrates perfectly with MEW ie myetherwallet.

I would stick with Schwab as they have an account specifically for those who move abroad (schwab international ) .. make sure you have USA account and then this gets you grand fathered in to an international account should you need one. PONAX beats them all .. .. even beats Wellington VWENX over different time spans ( run it through portfolio vizualizer) ... yes .. a bond fund that smokes the stock funds and it was only 5% or so down in 2008.

Over 25 billion in the fund and managed by Pimco... plus has proven history of success.

I use KEEPER password manager and vault .. it does log me in direct in a flash .... for sure I do not need to type my password with the keyboard in TD .... KEEPEr populates all user names and passwords on TD at least for me ... I can log in eyes closed.

Hello You may have thought of this but you need to be sure your brokerage account will not be closed when you move ... so what I would do is look at Charles International Account .... . if you do not have a USA Schwab account I would open one and transfer my assets thereto. I would stick with Schwab as you get excellent 24 hour customer service plus the debit card and checking account and the no atm charges when using foreign ATM While you can maintain a USA address and thus your account when you move to HuaHin or wherever .... I would opt for the Schwab International ...

Hello I think you will be just fine if you have access to the information that was on last year's return. Even when you are a regular TT user as regards carryover loss ... TT will verify that the figure is correct ..even though it has it right there ... it will usually ask you to confirm some figure...

Actually you can do much worse ... and when the next big recession hits ..may be this time one would not panic sell if you just keep an eye on the income ..... during and after the drop and you may be surprised to see good out come ... please see this article ... was an eye opener for me and POSITIV...

I think what I see here is that PONAX Bond fund is Beating a stock Bond Fund VWIAX ... through most periods in time ( recent years) .. I agree different assets class for each .... BUT I would have expected the Bond Fund to have lagged VWIAX ... ie here u have the Bond Income Fund winning when normal...

OK it is a BOND FUND INCOME ,,,, so you have a Bond fund beating a Bond plus Stock fund ie Wellesley VWIAX. U.S. News evaluated 323 Multisector Bond Funds. It ranked PONAX # 1 Morning star .. 5 star and below risk average. Yield is about 5% plus 5 year average return is 4.79% .. ytd only down 0.85% ...
