If you do not have children within 2 years of school I would just keep saving and renting. This is especially true if you may need to move when school is finished for work. BTW great job saving at such a young age!!

I recently drove a 2011 CRV and compared to my suburu forestor it is underpowered and does not handle very well.
Maybe consider a used Lexus rx350? More power and better handling but has plenty of room. My sister-in-law has a 2009 and loves it.

I would consider a new suburu forestor. I have a 2011 model and it has been great! I sleep in it occasionally as well as move moderately large items. It has 50k miles already and has been totally reliable so far. I have found power for acceleration acceptable.

2 adults - $500 not including cleaning supplies but including toiletries and paper towels/etc.

You might calll the insurance provider and record the call just in case there is a future issue. In Ohio as long as one party (you) knows a call is being recorded it is legal or get an email.
If someone in your family has an expensive illness they will try anything to deny coverage.

I had 2 kids get merit based scholarships based mainly on ACT scores but did not fill out anything. I knew we would never qualify for anything. Merit is really about performance or extracurricular achievement it seems.

If your child may return keep the house for the schools and the stability factor.
If your child is a daughter then a female roommate might be better. If a roommate who has to travel at least some for work could be found you would have more privacy.

Actuary or petroleum engineer. Almost every graduate in these 2 areas got a 6 figure job out of college. Maybe money won't make you happy but not having enough sure won't make you happy either.

Unless your kids get scholarships (I hope they do!) you will need every dime of the 529s even at public school. The accounts are not overfunded IMO. I would suggest doing some homework on college expenses as they are very much larger than 25 or 35 years ago when you were probably in college.
