If you open the Andrews account with the minimum of $5 you'll get hit with a $29 fee (from Andrews) if your bank makes the typical 2 small deposits and then withdraws them when you link an external account. I have found that the best solution for myself is Sennheiser RR840S with a set of Bose in-the-ear headphones (you can also use iPhone headphones). I also have two sets of Sennheiser RS 120 wireless over-the-ear headphones. The sound quality is terrific.

I would be very careful here. The beneficiary listed on the account may not be as listed in the will. Further the rightful beneficiaries most probably will receive a "step-up" in basis when transferred to them. Most surely, furnish Vanguard and any other brokerage a copy of the death certificate.

I have several certificates in excess of $50,000. A $25,000 limit must be something new as is the limitation on transferring money out - only in $5,000 increments very 4 days unless you have them wire the funds (for which I believe there is a $25 charge). Or send you a check.

Go to Account Maintenance then bank information and setup the banks that you wish to link. This would not be a wire transfer and would avoid such charges.

I believe that once you set up check writing on an account that you can then set up various banks to transfer money into and out of the account.
