Nothing wrong with that if you can stomach it. When I retire I plan to move my 401K all in the Vanguard Balanced Index Fund. I like the one fund option.

Mr. Bogle always says not to overdo it. No more than once a year. My plan (if I can stick with it) is to rebalance (if needed) every January and don't peek at my portfolio for the rest of the year.

I think if you adjust your lifestyle according to your portfolio and your social security and/or pension, you can certainly win.

Definitely get several quotes. I just did my deck but with Veranda decking and got quotes from $20K to $10K. I went with the $10K guy and I'm very happy with the job.
