I purchased one - my first 4 cylinder in a very long time. I love the car. Took a bit getting used to when you need to make a quick start but love the improved gas mileage. I find it a very smooth ride and handling. Very happy with my purchase

Just because it is "deducted' from your paycheck on Friday does not mean your company gets it to the 401k provider that same day. I know they have some grace period to get the money to them.

I just did the exact same thing TD-->VG and there were fractional shares

TD converted the fractional to $ (no transaction fee) and sent the cash over to VG with the whole shares.

TD sent me a confirmation showing all of the fractional to $ details.

Broker will not report the cost basis to the IRS when you sell it because the purchase was so long ago

you always have the option to modify the cost basis on your income tax form 8949. Just use the appropriate adjustment code. If you have good records you can respond to any questions from IRS. Plus having the communication with VG is added support

in your fidelity profile you can select how you want them to sell. but you also have the option after the sale to go in and select the specific tax lots. I do that between sale date and settlement date. Not sure how long it remains out there.

Yes you can use mileage for Car 1 and actual expenses for car 2

When you use the standard mileage rate that takes into account depreciation so you cannot take a capital loss on car 1.

I think one of the issues you might need to be concerned about if you 'give up' on this deal. If you are required to fill out a disclosure, you now know that a renovation to the house has caused it to now be out of 'code'. Might impact your future potential buyers.

I would read that as if she stopped working now she would get$100/month. If she continues to work until she is age 65, she will get $200 a month

If she wants to collect earlier than 65 (since she has already vested) she could collect less than those amounts
