Re: Are the more expensive bikes worth paying for?

I bought the Trek 7.2 FX a few years ago and it suits my needs nicely. Good hybrid for city roads, trails, dedicated paths. Only thing I had to change out were the cheaper aluminum pedals, but overall very pleased for price/performance.

Re: Retiring at 50

I was able to test ER a few years ago at age 53. Took 6 months off and did all the usual fun things to fill my time - travel, work out daily, outdoor activities, etc. Then winter hit and I found myself bored, missing the work along with the people. I didn't have a good ER plan, and just wasn't ready...

Re: Portland, Oregon Meeting?

Thanks for posting the meeting info. I just checked my email and noticed that my PM to Ron from a month ago was still sitting in my outbox also.

Re: LLC vs S-corp

An LLC or corporation does not prevent you from being sued for your own actions -- an auto accident, personal harm or injury, professional errors, negligence, defamation or malpractice. An LLC or corporation does not protect you against many of the torts that most people are afraid of. For that you...

Symbols Available in Passwords at Vanguard

I'm not sure if this is new news, but like many of you I'm concerned about password strength for accessing my accounts. I recently emailed my VG representative on this, and he replied that VG now allows symbols as part of the password login: I have spoken with our Web Technical Support Services and ...

I have a business membership with Costco ($50 annually) and use their TrueEarnings Business Card from AMEX. Last 2 years I've earned well over $1000 due to lots of business trips.

I stream "Groove Salad" on iTunes Radio, one of the channels offered by SomaFM. They describe it as "a nicely chilled plate of ambient beats and grooves". You can also stream direct from the SomaFM website.

Great ideas. Yes, I probably have too much in VMMXX, and will take your advice and move most of it into VWITX. My main reason was to have funds for quarterly tax payments, but VWITX also has check-writing so no reason not to have it there. I've never considered the non-deductible IRA options but wil...

So do all the bond transactions in the tax-advantaged space, versus in taxable, right? And you bring up a good point about my mortgage, I'll definitely look into it. Thanks.

Portfolio Review - and VG Financial Planner Recommendation

Hello - I’m a longtime Boglehead Forum reader and follower, but have never posted here. I appreciate all the advice I’ve read over the past few years (hopefully that might show in my portfolio), and would greatly appreciate your review and suggestions. I recently had my annual Vanguard Financial rev...
