What is there to see in Hollywood? Or the Santa Monica Pier, for that matter? Just off the top of my head the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach would be more fun than either of those two (especially for children). Oh, another reason they may be asking. Let's say you sold an investment property and you are depositing a large check. You might be a potential customer for some of their non-deposit investment products. The teller might get $50 if you buy one of their wonderful annuities.

I tinkered with this once (on paper). I thought maybe you could invest, let's say, 10 percent in a VIX ETF and 90 percent in an S&P 500 ETF and the VIX would go up when the market went down. I don't remember why, but that didn't seem to work.

In the tiny town where I grew up, it was the owner of the feed store that had a bad back. Everyone just loaded their own purchases because we knew she couldn't do it. Re: Is Wells Fargo doing a bait and switch with mortgage rate?

You can always ask about fees. A survey is a strange fee for a co-op, but maybe the fee is actually for something else and they just call it a survey fee. Both lenders should have given you a Loan Estimate. By law, those fees (with some exceptions) have to match the form you will get before closing ...

What one lender calls "conforming", another calls "jumbo". It really doesn't matter to the consumer. As someone said compare fees and points, not just the interest rate. As long as you review everything carefully and you are fine with the deal, go ahead with Wells Fargo if you want. Any lender can s...
