Re: Working Holidays for extra money.

My wife works at a luxury hotel. Everyone working today gets paid double, and they don't have a union. Someone has to be there. It's just me and her for now, so we would rather have the money. When children start coming maybe we will feel differently.

Re: Is Wells Fargo doing a bait and switch with mortgage rate?

You can always ask about fees. A survey is a strange fee for a co-op, but maybe the fee is actually for something else and they just call it a survey fee. Both lenders should have given you a Loan Estimate. By law, those fees (with some exceptions) have to match the form you will get before closing ...

What one lender calls "conforming", another calls "jumbo". It really doesn't matter to the consumer. As someone said compare fees and points, not just the interest rate. As long as you review everything carefully and you are fine with the deal, go ahead with Wells Fargo if you want. Any lender can s...

UCLA has multifamily housing for staff members south of the campus on Sepulveda, a little ways south of National Boulevard. From there a bus ride would be about half an hour - not too bad. I have no idea how much they cost, or if there is a waiting list, or how it works.

Something similar happened to my wife. She had a crown put in, then within a year or two was told that the tooth was dead and she needed a root canal.
