Re: comcast offer -- is there a catch?
I used to be a comcast customer. I would regularly get calls from different people offering new “deals” or “specials.” I feel like comcast hires third parties to do this though I have no evidence. After years of the Comcast/xfinity roller coaster of constant price changes and having to call to threaten to cancel only to be offered another “Promo” I finally cut ties and moved to a new provider and couldn’t be happier.

I just had the battery replaced in my Iphone 8. Ive had it probably 5 or 6 years and see no reason to replace a perfectly good phone. I made a same day appt at the apple store. Called to make sure the battery was in stock like someone mentioned above. $53 out the door. Im very happy. Cheaper than the after market knock offs and I feel like I have a brand new phone again.

Others will have to chime in but I believe that the contribution can now be removed as an excess contribution and there would be no commingling of tax deferred vs tax free funds going forward. The removed funds could then be invested in a highly tax efficient such as Vanguard Total US. Cheers This would be ideal if I can just remove the contribution. Upon review I am certain that this can be withdrawn as an excess contribution at this point. The recharacterization from Roth to Traditional made it as if the contribution was made directly to the tIRA. This sort of thing is fairly common on these Roth oops threads. Cheers Thank you! I will investigate this option as it may be the simplest solution going forward. Will the excess contribution b...

It just seems like a lot of extra to keep track of. The single contribution is the only nondeductible out of the tIRA so it is a relatively small amount for that much more to keep track of for so long.

Yes, the earnings are negative by quite a bit at this point. The amount transferred to the tIRA due to the loss was $4700.
I guess another option would be just to forget about it at this point and chock it up to a learning tax. The thought of paying tax again on money that I have already been taxed on does not make me happy though.

Best way to fix IRA mistake?
I have both Roth and Traditional IRA at Vanguard. At the beginning of 2022 I put $6000 into the Roth.
Fast Forward and my income exploded putting me over the limit for the Roth. So I recharacterized the $6000 to the traditional. After that, I now realize that my traditional now has a mixture of deductible and non-deductible which I do not want to keep track of for the next 30 years.
So my question is, what is the best way to correct this?
Can I reverse the recharacterization back to the Roth? Then remove the excess contribution of the Roth and just put it into my taxable account?

My income has increased dramatically, more than I ever imagined, in the last couple of years but I have found that the amount of discomfort I experience when letting go of a 20 dollar bill has remained the same. Birds are so fun to watch. I spent a couple weeks watching baby blue birds being fed. Its interesting what all they bring. They seem to favor little green caterpillars. But I saw lots of spiders. The most interesting was a huge dragon fly. I saw these big wings and had to take a double take. They couldn’t eat it the first time so papa blue grabbed it and flew away. Then he brought it back for another try. I don’t know how in the world that baby got that thing down it was huge.

Re: Buying condo, lawyer suggesting POA
Why do you need to be at the closing to sign the documents? I've closed on several properties: 1.) the documents were FedEx'd to me - I had to sign them in front of a Notary of the Public (I did this at my local Bank - after making an appt to do so) 2.) I arranged to meet with a representative of the local Title Company - I could have had them come to my office (or home) but I opted to go their office (it was near by). They printed out all the documents and I signed them and the Title Company Representative "notarized" them. What is the cost of having your lawyer be the POA verses the cost of you receiving the documents and signing them and returning them? What is most convenient for you? If you have difficulties writing - then I...

Nasdaq will be below 12,000 by the end of May it's like a slow motion car crash. People forget that many of these tech companies trade with each other, the speculative garbage has been taken out back and shot, the next shoes to drop are the bigger blue chip names. If growth has peaked and inflation will be 5% for a decade not 2%, it makes no sense to pay outrageous multiples. Another nail in the coffin of the Nasdaq is Rolex prices, Rolex has just begun to roll over. People are feeling less flush with cash, the wealth effect is vanishing and going into reverse, Rolex and related assets like digital coins are the leading edge of speculation. It is going to be close folks, currently the NASDAQ is sitting at 12,071 and change. Was Forester on...
