I’m a big fan of the Permanent Portfolio, although it's not a popular choice around here. Also a big fan of the permanent portfolio minus cash. Ultimately, gold isn’t very strongly correlated to stocks or treasuries, so adding it to a stock/bond mix should improve risk adjusted returns. Now is a tr...

If Gold hit 0 then there would be no point in mining gold even though that has been around for thousands of years as real money. Gold will be around well after us too.

Re: New Here

Silver and Gold isn’t my only holding. But it is the majority of my holdings. I also hold fiat paper money and the broad index for stocks in my 401k.

Re: Where to Park Money for short term?

6 month cd at Ally Bank is 0.4% as of right now. But their high yield savings account is yielding 0.8%. Not going to get much more than that for a savings account to park cash. Wish you the best with your investments!

Re: Capital One Saving drops interest rate (again)

Savers are getting destroyed. I use cash in the bank for my day to day needs. Ally Bank is slightly higher at 0.80% still losing purchasing power to inflation. I don’t have a lot but what I do have for holdings is in gold and silver. I can always exhange it in retirement for fiat paper at spot price...
