I'm trying to figure out which fund select for my "International" mutual fund in my company 401k - don't know if anyone has already done the legwork on this or might be able to provide some guidance. My options are limited to American Funds only - see "international" fund option...

With this list of funds, there is no way to put a 3-fund portfolio together. Even if we were to somehow pull that together, there is no tax advantage or expense ratio advantage either. The expense ratios are all very high. I would suggest you either skip contributing at all, or if you must, stick t...

The funds in that link are just "funds to consider" for people who are overwhelmed by too much choice. You aren't limited to them. You can invest in anything available on Fidelity's brokerage platform. I'm not overly familiar with Fidelity's bond fund offerings (like you say you want), so...

I am currently opening up an HSA for a health insurance plan at my employer. My wife also held one from a previous employer that still has a little over $3k in it. 5th/3rd bank is currently rolling her's over to Optum so we have decided to transition that account with mine. For instance does Fidelity offer funds like Vanguard’s LifeStrategy Income fund that would be a less volatile in case we do need to use the funds on a rare basis? Unfortunately, I haven't found one. +1 for Fidelity. If your existing provider charges a fee for rolling over the money, you can avoid that by simply taking a distribution (withdrawal) to your checking account, like you would do for a medical expense reimbursement, and sending that money to Fidelity. You DO NOT need to tell your curr...

i do not reinvest any dividends because it can cause a lot of annoying paperwork during tax season if you happen to tax loss harvest at the wrong time.
