The way I read the rules at TD is that you have to have indicated they were gifts at the time of purchase and placed them in your gift box at the time of purchase before transfering.

I will probably convert short term corporate bond in IRA to short term corporate bond in Roth. Then if an when there is a significant market drop, sell stocks for bonds in IRA, and sell bonds for stocks in the Roth in equivalent amounts.

I tried it once. Que laugh track, ok they only chuckled and told me no, said I could refinance wherever I like and asked if I needed an application, to which they got the same no back. I got a better rate elsewhere.

Also not available yet is the DONATION ASSISTANT, which I rely on. Also, still cannot yet print the CA return for paper filing. Jacked up price this year, and downgraded service. :x

I checked, and I downloaded on 12/1 last year. H&R was avail end of last month and Turbo on 12/1, taxact is slipping while jacking up the price quite a bit. Management should be concerned.

Tax Act for my California return is doing the same. It says I cannot file paper yet, but would allow e-file. Since one of my need forms doesn't even show up in the print file, I am not trusting the ok to e-file. They say that they don't yet have approval from the state for the print formats.

Well, no need to be a Flagship client anymore! The free TT was the only use I had in the Flagship level. I was a previous Tax Act customer, and now they will get me back, though their prices are up this year.
