Vanguard tab for 1-day change

Hello Forum, I talked to Vanguard customer service yesterday about a way to show the total 1-day change for each account. They said there isn't a summary tab for this, but I wonder if I just didn't ask the question clearly. Is there a way to show 1-day change for each account on the Vanguard page? T...

Re: Selling home - low ball negotiation

Your broker should be able to recommend a counter offer strategy. What do they say? They, after all, are working for you, and you've hired them expressly for their expertise in selling a house Mike Agree, this is what you are paying your realtor for. Putting food on the table is contingent on you a...

Funds comparable to VTV

Hello Forum, I own some VTV (5% of portfolio). It was suggested by an advisor I'm no longer with. It's currently in my vanguard taxable. Morningstar categorizes it as large cap value and my advisor suggested it because it has a large consumer defensive component. It looks like Vanguard Windsor and W...

Re: Considering getting an espresso maker - thoughts?

I would suggest this instead. Get a gram scale, gooseneck electric kettle, and a chemex.

I have never tasted anything other than rusty nails coming from a $400 espresso machine. If you get one, make a space for it in the garage because they're pretty messy for a normal kitchen.

Market conditions to look for when buying bonds

Hello Forum, I'm new to Vanguard - recently transferred in-kind from a managed account. When I did this, I ended up with a 100% stock portfolio. In general, the only thing that changed was the lack of a bond fund. 1) What is a good market condition to look for to time a bond purchase, and 2) is the ...

how to prune profits in a vanguard Roth

Hello Forum, I recently took on a 343 shares of VDE (Vanguard Energy ETF). It's done quite well and I'd like to reduce my exposure a little. What is the best way to move some of the short term gains from this position into another ETF, VOO for example. VDE and VOO are both in my Vanguard Roth. Thank...

Migrate from Active funds to Passive Vanguard funds/ETF

Hello Forum, First post, hello and thanks for sharing so much information. I'm currently saving ~77% of my monthly salary - mostly in Franklin Templeton mutual funds (4.5% load, ~0.85 er). I cut my own hair, don't have a cell plan, and am really employing every tactic I can to eliminate spending. Wh...
