will we ever go back to March 23 lows? since then, the market has moved up about 20% the market is recovering too quickly while i had some dry powder ready for deployment now i'm regretting cause i might have gotten too greedy waiting for a deeper hit to the market i only put in 1/3 of the dry powde...

most of all don't get too "tricky" don't ticker or change your positions due to market changes simplicity is key you are very lucky to be getting into the market during times like these - it may go down even more - but nobody knows i wish i had 1/2 million at 29 you are already way ahead of the game...

And older things in general lasted decades....

Now everything in made from plastic -weak material from China.

i'm just a beginner when it comes to individual stocks but why is steel at record lows right now? it was almost at $200 in 2008 and it's trading at $6 today in the early 90's it was still at 4-5x the price it's at now would love to hear your views? i think it's a great question (in my head at least)...

most people here would tell you to lump sum. i did that mistake in January (all time highs) and still regretting it. right now it's the perfect time to put 1/3 or 1/2 of your money in VFIAX or VTSAX (both Vanguard mutual funds) we are about 25% from all time highs on the domestic stock side i would ...

however, the company is still producing 24/7 and making billions in revenue every year.

yea the short term capital gains will definitely take a big hit to my budget (especially since i'll just buy more of VFIAX after i double/triple my individual stocks)

Boeing is a great example. No way the gov't will allow that company to go downhill. If it goes to 120 or lower i feel like it will at least double if not triple in value fairly quickly i don't know much about stock picking but i know most people would agree with me on that statement. maybe some of us (like me) see stocks as gambling and it hits the wrong nerve and it spirals out of control.

that is what worries me. my emotional aspect when things go downhill .
i will not be able to control it and start selling my index funds if my stocks start losing

if you knew my history that is what scares me... i went thru a rough gambling phase few years back and chased my losses it caused me huge financial/mental/emotional burden if i put my money into a mutual fund i know that in a decade or two..it will be up..no matter what (good investement) i just don...
