Re: Is living near power lines ok or bad?

The strength of a magnetic field is inversely proportional to the square of the distance (1/x^2). In other words, you're fine health-wise. As others have alluded to, the biggest problem with power lines is that they are ugly! :)

Did some more tax loss harvesting and a bit of rebalancing this week. I'm a bit overweight in US equities now, but I have a feeling that problem will correct itself! I did some too, sold VTI at a loss and immodestly bought VOO. I added that loss to the loss I took in December 2018. With t...

Re: Emergency Fund or Invest

My emergency fund is a plush 6 months of expenses, but could easily last us 10+ months if needed (married, 3 kids). Every now and then, I stare at my emergency fund balance and think about the gains I could be getting if I had it invested (those are guaranteed, right?). Right now, I am grateful that...

Good background information about these loans here: https://dealbook.nytimes.com/2015/01/26/investment-riches-built-on-auto-loans-to-poor/ Among the borrowers stoking the lending boom are people like Dana Payne.
