Re: FIRE (Financial Independence Retire Early)
I'm 25 years old. I have been consistently contributing to my 401k and Roth IRA over my entire professional career (4 years total so far). However, with FIRE (Financial Independence Retire Early) being a major goal in my life I have started to question if investing in my 401K and Roth IRA makes any...

Re: Recommended physical fitness websites/books/apps?
I want to improve my physical fitness and am looking for website/book/app recommendations. I'm basically looking to find the Bogleheads of physical fitness... simple advice rooted in best practices rather than trying to sell me things. I have access to a small gym with basic equipment (weights/card...

Re: 401K plan after leaving company
It sounds more like the OP can’t contribute to a Roth IRA because he or she is fully retired and has no wage income. OP is that right? Do you not expect to have any wage income from now until your death (ie are you fully retiring)? No, the amount of income I make is greater than the max amount allo...

Re: 401K plan after leaving company
I recently left a company where I had a 401K. The new company I work for does not have a 401k. I was going to roll the 401k into my Roth IRA but I am going to make more than the $137,000 limit that prevents you from contributing any money to the Roth IRA. My base salary is 108k, I get a monthly car...

Re: 401K plan after leaving company
There is no income limit on Roth rollovers (rollovers are not contributions), but if this is a regular, pre-tax 401K then the entire amount of the Roth rollover will be taxable income in the year you make the rollover. The two possible courses of action are: 1. Leave the 401K where it is for now. Y...

Duckie,
I invest for retirement through my W2 job 401k and I also invest in a roth IRA. The remaining funds are put in index funds or saved for down payments on properties. I have an emergency fund and no debt other than the properties

Hi! My name is Kevin. I am new to the site after hearing about the forum on a bigger pockets money podcast. I am 25 years old and have no debt other than the two rental properties I own. One is a single family, and the other is a duplex in which I live in one unit and rent out the other leaving me r...
