Re: Vanguard Security Key

I deleted and re-enrolled my two security keys on January 7, 2020 in accordance with the email I received from Vanguard that day. Today, after logging in, my account has the following message for each security key: "Expires soon! Please delete and re-enroll". :confused

Re: Credit Card Hacked 3 times - What is happening?

There is a charity that I like to support. Every time I donated via my credit card, it got stolen. Not right away, but eventually. I now send them a check and the hacks have stopped. If your check is a typical personal check, with your account number and bank routing number, it has all the informat...

Re: First Foundation Bank 2.4% Savings

It's just as well they rejected my application. Their online savings account rate has dropped to 2.00% APY.

Re: First Foundation Bank 2.4% Savings

I made five attempts to open a First Foundation Bank savings account online on November 13, but my applications were rejected each time with the following message: "We were unable to identify you. Thank you for inquiring about an account with First Foundation Bank. Unfortunately, we are unable to ap...

I dropped DirecTV in 2007. I receive over-the-air TV with an RCA ANT751R antenna connected to a TiVo digital video recorder with a lifetime program guide subscription.

Re: How common is ACH fraud on checking accounts?

I had a fraudulent or mistaken ACH debit of $35,000 from my checking account. I suspect that it was fraud because I was already dealing with identity theft. The fraudster was considerate enough to leave a balance of several thousand dollars, presumably so my checks and ACH payments wouldn't bounce, ...

Re: Does anybody replace HVAC capacitors presumptively before they fail as part of maintenance?

I live in the Mid-Atlantic region. My 29-year-old Trane heat pump gets plenty of use year-round. I replaced the felt and oiled the fan motor bearings, and replaced the contactor. I replaced the timer relay in the air handler twice. I haven't replaced the capacitors.

Re: Equifax: can’t log in

Equifax is evil! I tried to temporarily lift my security freeze by phone this afternoon. The system asked for my mobile phone number, SS number, address number, zip code and 4 knowledge based authentication questions pertaining to accounts I may or may not have. The system never asked for my PIN and...

Re: Checks without my account number

Thanks for the replies. Reports indicate a potential problem with pre-authorized checks like Bluebird and Money Network. It has been reported that a pre-authorized check will bounce if the payee attempts an electronic deposit or ACH pull: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manufactured-spending/1567271...

Checks without my account number

For security, the ideal checking account would never disclose my account number. When payment by check is necessary, each check would be printed with a unique transaction number instead of my account number. The checks would be printed and sent as needed by an online bill paying service, or I would ...
