Re: Term Life Table Rated - How to proceed

UPDATE 10/28. I wanted to give an update since I got some excellent advice from those on these boards. I ended up going through term4sale.com and got a policy from Prudential for 30 year/1million for 108$ a month. Approximately 50% savings over what I was offered via pacific life and policygenius. T...

Re: Should a job offer include details about relocation package?

I had an offer from FAANG out of college that would not tell me where’d id be until after signing the official letter. That was weird and I did not do accept. Another company would not send me offer letter until I verbally accepted. Another company that I ended up going to work for included the relo...

Suburbs or more expensive home closer to city center to maximize job opportunities (Nashville/Charlotte)

I'm curious of people's opinions/experiences with this and whether this is an appropriate justification. We are considering relocating to either Nashville or Charlotte from Phoenix metropolitan area. We've had one too many summers and would like to get back to the east coast. In looking at homes and...

Re: advice for new grad daughter getting first apartment

Phx resident here. That sounds cheap for an apartment in Scottsdale, there are good and bad neighborhoods so makes me wonder about the location. It’s getting expensive to rent or buy homes in attractive locations in Phoenix and traffic is significant. Based on how you describe her I wouldn’t be surp...

UPDATE - Term Life Table Rated - How to proceed

Hoping for advice on how to proceed. Recently married and we begun planning to start a family so that meant getting term life. Wife got the best class at a very affordable 1M/30yr term. I knew going into it best I could hope for was standard but I ended up getting Class 4 after underwriting. We went...

Re: Beyond Meat Burger? Do you like?

We bought 4 patties and were hopeful, we are not vegans but also not big red meat eaters. This was about a month ago. 2 patties ended up in the trash which is saying a lot because my wife hates wasting food. They are also quite expensive. I guess if you have not had a burger in a long time they tast...

Re: Which car to buy?

I'd hold off longer as there will always be cars you want and trading a <100k lexus for a new camry or a new rx350 just seems silly. Wait a few years then buy the rx350 with all the options you want. Car technology is changing very quickly so in 3-4 years who knows that rx350 is going to come with. ...

Re: Purchasing home with less than 20% downpayment experiences?

Wife went this way putting only 3.5% down back in house we live in now several years back before we were married. It's a relatively inexpensive home so I don't see any issue with not putting 20% down. Has not affected us in the slightest other than ~50$ a month in PMI. PMI + Mortage + insurance = 9%...

It would appear so. We hold VUG (VIGAX etf equivalent) in taxable account

Edit: Can't seem to get the link to include the comparison to VTSAX, click on the compare button and type it in.

Re: Questions before we sign - Transamerica term life policy

I could be over reacting as I've just read a bunch of not so good reviews about Transamerica. It's the thought of having to mail a check in each year as opposed to just an ACH payment. I'd be worried about them saying oh we never got the check, etc... that I'd be paying each year to send it certifie...

Questions before we sign - Transamerica term life policy

Wife and I have begun the process of getting term life 1m/30yr on each of us via PolicyGenius. The rate matches what is offered on TERM4SALE.com My wife got preferred plus and am confident she can get that rating classification at any carrier. I had originally chosen Transamerica as the company beca...

Camry Owners What Fluids do you flush if any on your car and how often

I know there are many Camry drivers on the forums so I thought I would post this question. I have a 2017 camry le that i bought new that I intend to drive it 'forever'. I am coming up on 50k miles with no issues whatsoever, I've done all the recommended maintenance but recently was given some recomm...

Gift card to figs.com

They are very popular according to wife (RN) and cousin (PA). We gave my cousin a $100 gift card for her graduation and she was over the moon.

Hello, We have been considering a move to Charlotte, NC for several years now. Use portfoliovisualizer.com to look at past performance of the advisor suggested portfolio against the excellent suggestion here. I think you’ll be surprised. My Roth IRA with fidelity gets 20% fssnx and 50% fzrox (zero fee total us market)

Re: Fidelity 401k brokeragelink fund review

He’s suggesting the more expensive fidelity funds. Check the performance of regular ones against their “enhanced”. Splitting between value and growth evenly is counter productive just get the large cap index for 35%. This is blend and does not tilt either way. Fidelity small cap is fine, Dreyfus is ...

Re: Help understanding annuities 96 year old grandma was sold from Merril Lynch FA

Thank you for your response, much appreciated. If it helps anyone else, the two annuities in question are separate than the two life insurance policies that she outlived. They did not roll over into these annuities.
