Re: Smart Garage Door Openers

Reading this thread inspired me to buy/ install the Meross unit. $49 on Amazon. Easy installation connecting to 10 year old Chamberlain opener. Nice integration with Alexa. Now when I go out cycling I simply tap my phone to close the garage door, instead of hitting the button near the walkthrough do...

Re: Buy pacific gas and electric?

PG&E fell 30% yesterday alone, closing at $5. Some analysts are predicting a 75% probability of falling to $0. The recent fires here in northern California will be the death of them, as the wine country fire near Geyserville looks like it was started by faulty equipment.

Re: Considering switch from Vanguard to eTrade...pros, cons and other input?

As a buy and hold investor (fire) I would not have any concern about going to Etrade. I transferred a $1m account from Vanguard to E-Trade. They had advertised a $3,000 bonus, but I was surprised that they had a short-term bonus for $4k available. If you have this type of account balance simply cal...

Word of caution: do be careful Not to take a TAXI from in front of any transit station or tourist venue...either walk a bit away and hail a taxi, or have the Venue or restaurant or hotel call for one. "RadioTaxi" only! Bosques de Palermo. At almost 1,000 acres, this park is best explored from a spec...

Drats. Pinotage beat me to it. Wanted to be the final post at 1,000, lucky for me the moderators have increased the cap for a single subject to 1,001. 14 months and 1,001 posts. Let's call it done, shall we?

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses

I secured $7,000 in bonuses in 7 days. I'm very happy. 1. Yesterday, Fidelity granted me a $3,000 retention bonus. Here's how I did it: I went into the local Fidelity office and set an appointment with my advisor. (Only the second time in 20 years I've met with the assigned rep). I shared that I was...
