Re: Vanguard Android App and NFC Yubi keys ?

I believe Vanguard only supports FIDO-U2F via desktop Chrome or desktop Firefox. I did just successfully use Chrome for Android to test Yubikey FIDO-U2F over NFC for GMail. Not sure if the new Firefox for Android supports FIDO-U2F/WebAuthN out of the box, and about:config is dead for Firefox Android...

Re: Vanguard 2-factor authentication becoming mandatory and available for non-US

I have no idea what any of that means. Is what you describe a real problem or just a theoretical weakness that practically never happens? Most of my reply was addressing Gadget's concern about the dependency on Symantec VIP. The workaround is a one-time step which mimics the Symantec VIP app callin...

Re: Vanguard 2-factor authentication becoming mandatory and available for non-US

Fidelity too Unfortunately, for Fidelity, if you enable app TOTP 2FA, you have to use it on each login. If you simply use SMS-based 2FA, you can choose to enter it only when logging in from new devices. While I strongly prefer TOTP 2FA, I don't want to have to enter it all the time. Poor (lack of) ...

Re: Vanguard 2-factor authentication becoming mandatory and available for non-US

Logged into Vanguard via Firefox today and was greeted with a prompt to press my Fido-U2F enabled Yubikey. Previously this had only worked for me with Chrome, despite multiple past attempts to trick the vanguard site into believing I was using Chrome via the User Agent string. Looks like Firefox is ...

The $56k limit is per unrelated employer. The only limit you'd have to worry about across employers is the $19k limit.

Re: Possible Error on 1099R's for Mega Backdoor Roth

Throughout 2019 I did multiple cycles of contribution to After-Tax 401k (Schwab) followed by rollover to Roth IRA (Vanguard), as quickly as was possible to limit gains. Usually there was a small gain; sometimes there was a small loss. Every cycle I chose to rollover the entire After-Tax 401k balanc...

Money Market Accounts have FDIC insurance, whereas Money Market Mutual Funds do not.

Re: 401k Question - Fidelity

I'm in both. I believe they're both unitized funds. Interest Income used to be called Stable Value. It's a pretty good stable value fund by all accounts I've read here, and the rate is good.
