Re: What is your age/AA during this crisis?

Age 68, retired last year, widowed. 48% equities/52% fixed income. I have chosen not to rebalance during this downdraft so had a higher stock allocation when this all began. I am funding my life with fixed income drawdown till age 70 SS starts in Aug 2021. Did a partial Roth conversion in March and ...

Re: So, Where Are You *Back* To in Time? (And Were You Happy Then?)

I'm back to around where I retired in March 2019. Became a two comma club member in the run up last fall now back to high 6 figures in retirement accounts. When I rolled over my 401K last year I added extra to fixed income to tide me over to taking SS at 70 which will happen in Aug 2021. Now glad I ...

Agree there’s no tax due on $12.76 so there’s no requirement to file.

Great! Thanks. :thumbsup

It's below the threshold for filing, so I'd just ignore it. I ignored my kid's 1099's until they were over the $1100 or whatever amount it is for unearned income before you have to file.

Ok. I thought the threshold was $10.00. Thanks for the info.

Received 1099-DIV for deceased spouse

My wife died in Nov. 2018. She had a POD account for the two daughters. Daughter no.1 did not collect her share of POD account until after January 2019. As a result I have 1099_DIV in the amount of $12.76 I received in my deceased wife's name. How is this handled tax wise? Do I have to file an indiv...

Re: Folks age between 65-70. What’s your exercise routine

Age 68. Osteoarthritis is my bane. Full hip replacement at end of 2016. I hit the floor daily when I get out of bed for 15 to 20 minutes doing lower back exercises to help me get moving. I found a low impact aerobics class at a local senior center. 3 days/week, 1 hr/day. We exercise to walking routi...

DM200, What I did for my mom years ago was to build a stairway with around half the standard rise. The average rise to run for a stairs is 7" rise to 11" run. My mom had diabetes so she could not lift her legs very well although she could still walk on fairly level surfaces. I built her a ...

Lots of good suggestions already. No one mentioned the Lorreto Chapel yet. www.lorettochapel.com It is in Santa Fe just a little ways from the plaza across from the St Francis of Assisi Cathedral. Re: Recent SS Restricted Spousal Applicants - Did you get new Medicare Card?

In the past, BHs have reported that they would get a new medicare card based upon their spouse's SS number if they applied for SS but restricted it to spousal benefits. This only applies to those born before 1/2/1954. The last year or so SS has been issuing every Medicare recipient new cards with n...

:beer Time to ride off into the sunset after a 40+ year career. Will be joining this class in May. Many thanks to Mr. Bogle's "Little Book of Common Sense Investing" which I discovered in the late 1990s for getting me seriously on to the road of retirement saving and investing. :beer
