Re: Manager is Interviewing Candidates (External) before Job is posted

Not sure how you are convinced he is interviewing if the job is not posted? He may be doing informational. I also know situations where they have to consider o/s...

Re: Is this 25% savings?

I want to give your team the benefit of doubt that they indeed know math. My experience with marketers who have P&L responsibility is that they are very good at math. I suspect this may be more a messaging objective with 25% being an attractive eye catcher. If so I would suggest you rebrand the mess...

I buy local ice cream these days. Pricy but flavorful. If I pick up something from
the store though B&J would be my preference. Pricy and sinful indulgence

Re: Birthday party- No gifts

We used to go without gifts honoring the host request. Alas, at the party, everyone still got one and the hosts accepted them. Especially when it is a drop off my kids came back asking why they did not carry gifts when others did. I now do the "play it by ear" thing and keep one in car just in case....

Re: College admission inputs - Purdue vs local SJSU vs others

I think the difference in fees between Purdue and SJ as well as the local aspect of SJ is creating complications in making the decision. If you are able to guide him in his courses and help network for internship/Job search assuming he wants to Corporate jobs and not pursue research/academia I would...

Re: In search of a dishwasher that dries plastics well...

We just bought the Kitchen aid with heated dry and the model specifically has a recessed heating element (KDTE334GPS). I was also on the look out for the same feature and not many in this energy efficiency focused world makes those kind of machines anymore. It is not perfect, but they do come out re...

Re: Client From Hell Is Driving Me Insane!

OP: I have been a strategy consultant - so somewhat different in terms of service offerings compared to advertising, but some thoughts based on my experiences with similar clients: 1) Is this a single person making life difficult or an entire team or just the culture at the client place? 2) In gener...

DIY Auto repairs

Hello everyone: I have gotten a lot of insights and direction from this forum on the financial side. Thank you for all of that and for what you are doing to spread financial awareness. The "Boglehead" mindset has permeated my other aspects of life so much that whenever I have a question I usually co...

Re: Help name a new analytics firm

If your focus is on pharma, it would help to put/have some connection to "pharma".. as long as you don't plan to serve other industries. There are several analytics/technology firms and having a pharma name will help you stand out somewhat (only somewhat because there are several of those as well). ...
