The portfolio watch numbers are also correct in my account.

It is just the personal performance number that have fallen off

Re: Vanguard - Personal Performance Calculation is showing incorrect values

I know portfolio watch is worthless. Several years ago they started characterizing my fidelity holdings as unknown. I assume they are doing this out of some childish spite because I have money with their competition. I contacted them but without any help received. Thanks about the email response ex...

Re: Vanguard - Personal Performance Calculation is showing incorrect values

Are you aware of the "View" pull down box in the lower right part of the personal performance screen? This is where you select the time window. 10 years is the max. "From inception" is not an option. Does this help explain what you are seeing? Yeah, i have tried YTD and custom r...

Hi In the last month or saw I have noticed that there is a huge discrepancy between the numbers on my Vanguard account's a. Account overview page b. Cost basis page and c. Personal performance page 'a', 'b' are correct, but Personal performance calculations have dramatically fallen. In fact it is cl...

Re: My LenderFi refinance is going well

Ok, so after 4 months waiting for Suntrust Refi, am initiating with LenderFi. 2.125% 15-year, 38% LTV, $2k in closing costs. Starting the clock tomorrow 10/28/20. I have a similar situation, in fact worse. a. 1 refi attempt in Jun: rate lock timed out, due to HELOC subordination delays b. 2nd refi ...

Re: Refinancing with a HELOC

I went through this question recently. I wanted to keep my old HELOC. The new main loan lender requested a subordination from the bank that has my HELOC. During my last refi 5 yrs ago, such a subordination process took 4 weeks. This time around the subordination was not done until 8 weeks, and then ...

Question on Wash sale rule in TLH

Hi I am in the middle of liquidating some employee stock (ESPP - some of it at a loss from the date it was released). Within 30days i will vest stock options that i would like to exercise and hold. Does an exercise and hold event within 30days of sale of the same stock, constitute a buy transaction ...

Hello Siamond Thank for you and others who have worked on this post. This post has been very educational. I cannot claim to understand many nuances, in the post specially as it comes to bonds (and whether i should stay with TBM or pivot to treasuries), but nevertheless, posts like these help greatly...

Re: When are you rebalancing?

I rebalance in three ways, two common and the third rare. Every January, I change my allocation as appropriate (2% more bonds per year), and do a full rebalance to my target allocation as long as I don't have to sell anything for a capital gain. When I have new money to invest, it goes to the most-...

Re: When are you rebalancing?

People have different opinions on this. I rebalance back into my band, but not back to target. So if the target is 50% and the asset has fallen to 44%, I usually wait and day or two to see if it comes back on it's own and if it does not, I'll rebalance back to something like 46% or 47%. When the ma...

Re: When are you rebalancing?

Just so i understand:

If my AA is 7% off, 2% more than my trigger 5% band, should i rebalance enough to get it within the band i.e. move 2% money OR move all 7% from bonds to stocks?

This will be my 1st time rebalancing so much money, hence the ask

Thanks

I want to do the same.

Should i just place one single exchange order - VTIAX to VFWAX? Is there any timing consideration involved here? will i lose anytime out of the market while the exchange is done?

Rebalance now or stick to the plan

Hi, I have been diligently rebalancing two times a year to come close to my AA (either rebalance or move new money to assess class that is falling behind). For me this is mostly in Apr and Oct. However i am now seeing a close to 5% deviation from my AA. Could i request some opinions on: - if it is a...

Re: 8606 confusion

You converted 11,000 in 2018, didn't you? Your 2018 return only shows 5500. The 1099R should indicate a distribution of 11,000. If so, the 2018 return will not match up to the IRS' income records, and they will send you an inquiry, probably later this year. Are you sure about the dates, year, and c...

When filled out using software there is a hidden worksheet that calculates so certain lines are blank. If using paper those lines would have had numbers. As long as lines 3, 13, 14, and 18 are correct you're fine. However, since you didn't file the 2016 Form 8606, when your CPA filed the 2017 form ...
