So what funds are people looking to swap out in tax advantaged accounts? Personally I am liking VXUS for SCHF and VBR for SLYV.

Re: Wife's 401k investment options are bad...options?

We are 32 and 31. She is a physician at an underserved clinic and unfortunately there aren't many other options for work unless we give up on our goal for her to work in that community. She is in the leadership pipeline there to become medical director in the future as well, so it is likely that sh...

Re: Wife's 401k investment options are bad...options?

Looking for some insight into where I should be putting additional retirement funds. Currently I am maxing out my 403b with TIAA with a modified 3 fund portfolio(TIAA traditional instead of bonds) using low ER vanguard funds. I am also maxing out my backdoor Roths for my with and I at Schwab and ou...

Re: Schwab to Vanguard ?

TD funds a Schwab utilize auto sweep for their cash into SVUXX which is even better 2.48. Not quite parsing this sentence. It appears the minimum investment is $1 million. And it's not auto-sweep, at least at Schwab. What do you mean by 'TD' ? https://www.schwab.com/public/schwab/investing/accounts...

Re: Schwab to Vanguard ?

I was unable to find an equivalent to VBIAX at Schwab. SWTSX 60% SWAGX 40% I already have VTI/BND at those allocations. I was looking for one fund as I don't really want to have to re-balance. Especially when I start withdrawing. It would help us to understand why this $ is different from the VTI/B...

Re: Grandma's Money

If you have Power of Attorney for her, remember that your fiduciary responsibility is towards her and her care - no one else. Grandma's money shouldn't be invested aggressively, given her age and the need for liquidity in providing for her care. Although she may not have immediate needs, her situat...

Re: Grandma's Money

Thanks for all the advise on this. I definitely don't wasn't to step into someplace I don't belong. I think the idea of doing a rough calculation between the 1.75 and .3 AUM is the way to make the point without overstepping. My grandfather recently passed away, leaving a seven figure portfolio to be...

Grandma's Money

Hi everyone, been reading this forum for a few years now, but this is my first post. My grandfather recently passed away, leaving a seven figure portfolio to be managed by my father on behalf of my grandmother, who has Alzheimer's. I was horrified to find that PNC investments was charging an AUM of ...
