Re: printable costco shopping list

I made a simple spreadsheet that lists the most common items we buy at Costco and what aisle they are in. I have been using this for about a year and most of the items have not moved in that time (such as pasta in aisle 317 and laundry detergent in aisle 311). And most importantly, toilet paper is ...

Re: Where do you buy coffee beans?

IMO for the money, pound for pound, the best coffee is Eight o' Clock Columbian Peaks. It's very consistent and has a winey, slightly tangy taste- which I love. For $6 a lb, the savings over $15 lb coffee buys me an extra round of golf a month. I have tried a lot of different varieties and blends of...

Re: Should I get a ping pong table?

We have a ping pong table which is stored in our garage. It folds up and rolls out easily when we want to play in our backyard. We purchased it about 15 years ago. It's been a great acquisition. We love to play with our kids, and they play with their friends as well. I think it's underrated as a phy...

Re: Recommend a mattress?

We purchased King Koil, the extended life series; specifically the Beckett model. We got it from Sit n Sleep, but it's also available through Macy's online. The mattress contains about 35% latex, which I prefer. Also the warranty is better than most of the manufacturers. It was great to be able to c...

Re: "Nice" furniture recommendations

Re Room and Board: Maybe I'm an outlier here, but not terribly pleased with them. We purchased several items for our living room approximately 3 years ago. The foam cushions on the sofa need to be replaced. The material is fine, but the cushions have lost their firmness. R & B will replace just the ...

I would wait a few months. There are a number of new models (SUV's/CUV's) coming out which may be worth looking into. These come to mind:
VW ID 4
Nissan Arriya
Volvo XC -40
Ford Mustang

Not sure what happened to my tomato plants, but leaves started turning brown/dying early. The dying continued up the plants. Because of this. all the tomatoes fell off before becoming fully ripe. Still canned over 24 quarts but not as tasty as previous years. The rot did not affect the Roma plants ...

Re: What expenditures improved your happiness/quality of life?

We purchased lounge chairs, dining table and string lights for the backyard patio. And then I started a planter garden for herbs and tomatoes. I've lived in So Cal for over 30 years and now I get around to doing this? I am such a dummy! Oh well... as they say, "Better late than never".

Going carless should be doable. If your son wants to explore the surrounding areas (like San Diego , Santa Barbara, etc) he should look into renting a car.

Re: Backyard BBQ - easy

If you go with the Weber Spirit Below the burners there are two metal removable “food debris”pans at the bottom. One is large, rectangular and sloped, and has a hole that feeds grease into the other smaller and squared pan. I line the large pan with aluminum foil and punch out the hole area that fee...

Re: New refrigerator

I've had a GE side by side with external ice and water for about 5 years now. It's been OK. My biggest complaint is with the shelving in the freezer compartment. The racks and shelves keep caving in. Some cold spots in the refrig side as well. My sister in law purchased a Whirlpool Gold at about the...

I buy Eight O'Clock Whole Bean Columbian Peaks from Amazon Prime. Medium Roast with a bit of a bright taste. Good every day cup. And the price is right, around $12 for 40 ounces. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003G ... UTF8&psc=1

Dear Respondents: Thanks for all of your ideas. Sound bar sounds interesting or suppose I could go with an entertainment system - think it's called surround sound?. Sound quality is a concern though. I don't like the idea of giving up my beloved Boston Acoustics speakers. They are 40 years old. Mayb...

Re: Broken Onkyo Audio Receiver Under Warranty. What Recourse do I Have?

The Model is Onkyo TX-NR585 7.2 Channel Network A/V Receiver ($300). I goggled Onkyo and found an older thread on AVS Forum which seemed to validate that there were issues https://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-receivers-amps-processors/1652514-onkyo-acknowledges-failed-units-extending-warrranties-until-...

Thanks for the suggestion. You connect up your speakers, CD player, TV to it. Also use through blue tooth to connect to Spotify through your I phone. I don't know if in good conscience I could sell it to anyone.

Broken Onkyo Audio Receiver Under Warranty. What Recourse do I Have?

For the second time in 10 months my audio receiver has failed. It's the same part. Each occurrence the unit has sat in the repair shop for one month awaiting parts to be shipped by Onkyo. Their customer service is terrible! Aside from the inconvenience, I am concerned that the unit will fail again, ...

This is a service which is typically used by small companies. It's a nice convenience. Like all insurance products I would shop it each year to make sure that you are getting best service, etc. ADP does partner with highly rated carriers and from my experience is a reputable company.

For those who don't like the non stick coating, I'd suggest you look into this product. Aroma 6 or 14 cup rice cooker with stainless bowl. Amazon carries it. It's a basic rice cooker. We've been using this brand for years.

I subscribe to Spectrum cable and have a tiered package which included many sports channels (in my case they call it Digi Tier 2). I switched out the sports channels for HBO. It was about the same price and now I am enjoying series like Barry. Can't get enough of him!

Long time lurker, first time poster. I own a 13 Leaf S. I live in coastal So Cal. Going on 62K with 10 bars remaining on battery. That translates to about 65 +- miles of range. I bought the car 4 1/2 years ago used for 10K. This car is perfect for local driving. Other than the battery degradation, I...
