Re: iPhone 12 Pro Max OR ...?

I have an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB currently that I bought in 2014 at release. Mostly an Apple household so would prefer another iPhone to an Android phone, although I realize the latter generally have newer tech for a lower price. The home button no longer works (I use the on-screen AssistiveTouch for ...

Re: Pay $120/year for iCloud or switch to Google Photos

You get free unlimited storage on Google photos and videos if you reduce the resolution for Photos. BUT the good news is that the photos format in which iPhone takes the pics (HEIC) is already so compressed that Google stores them in original size. And AFAIK personal photos are not google property....

Re: Fraud charges on Netflix using Bofa Card

That's just stupid on BofA's part since what they're essentially saying is if a card is fraudulently used at a merchant where you've also legitimately used the card, it's a billing dispute, not fraud. Too big to fail? How about too stupid not to fail! I too understand this but what the rep told me ...

Re: Fraud charges on Netflix using Bofa Card

Hi All, Thanks all for posting replies. The issues is happily resolved. There was a technicality in raising the claim. It should have been raised as billing dispute and NOT fraud. Since I still have active Netflix account, Bofa fraud team rejected the claim three times citing that I am authorised us...

Fraud charges on Netflix using Bofa Card

Hi All, Someone has been using my Bofa card for their Netflix account. This has been going on for last 4 months and I did not notice. This month when I noticed, I contacted Netflix. They issued credit only for this month asking me to contact Bofa for last three months. When I contacted Bofa they put...

Re: Tesla Stock

My reasons to buy TSLA 1. A new incomer has no legacy system and people to Change. It starts from clean slate. 2. Home grown brand in biggest market will always be near to users to act and react 3. Enough of burning coal and gas. Let’s go green 4. Technology is a barrier with moat and Tesla is a tec...

Re: Have you switched from Android to iPhone? What were the pluses and minuses?

Conversely, I am considering moving from iPhone (long time user) to Android based purely on the cost of ownership. My household has five iphones and I simply can't justify the cost. That said, I love the simplicity, usability and elegance of the iphone. I will miss it. Since you would prefer iPhone...

Re: Large forex transfer from India ($100K+ )

OP: confirm please: NRE or NRO account? There is a huge difference in the ease and ability to repatriate money outbound depending on that. Also, are you using the bank in India where you hold the funds, or looking for a third-party bank to process the transfer? This is NRO account. I did open NRE a...

Re: Have you switched from Android to iPhone? What were the pluses and minuses?

Android is about the open eco system and cross functionality. All of it is open so people can build all sort of apps and all sort of phones are available. iPhone has a much tighter control over hardware and software so its a seamless experience. Once you are in iGarden you would not miss outside wor...

Re: Large forex transfer from India ($100K+ )

I am trying with HDFC bank NRE a/c but the guys are very slow (lost already 5 months!!) and needs tons of documents to be mailed which keeps getting lost by USPS. So thought of checking if other option exists here. I have found that DHL is cheap, reliable, and fast for shipments to India. Cheap = t...

Thanks for response. Yes I get it now. I did read this news at below but could not connect the dots. It makes sense now to see the omission. Quoting from article ... The nation would now raise loans in London, New York or Tokyo, junking seven decades of dogmatic abstinence induced by conservative an...

My employer does not have backdoor Roth yet. They plan to offer it sometime in future. But plan to open 529 for kids.

Dear Community, I need help regarding my portfolio re-balance. I am maintaining 80-20 E/D ratio. Having gone thru this forum before I switched my 401K to S&P 500 index fund (VANG INST 500 IDX) and it has given me good returns for last 6 months with lowest exp ratio. I learn again from this forum...

Re: What's Your Credit Card Rewards Strategy?

Now that Bofa lets you choose 3% category and you get 75% boost with Platinum Honors. So I am thinking of consolidating 100K from my other investment accounts in Bofa-ML. Based on the expenses like below I am not able to put any other combination to maximize the gains. Do let me know if this is good...
