Re: [Good Job] GJ Bogleheads

I use Vanguard for all my investments. Simple straightforward indexing, but when I started I used Vanguard 500 IN and Extended Market in order to replicate the domestic stock market so I'm kind of stuck with that approach because of high unrealized gains. Anyway, long story short, the Vanguard Planner I spoke to was going to have me allocate with a 60/40 500IN/Extended Market mix. But because of Bogleheads I knew the ratio was really 80/20 (or 81.4/18.6 to be precise). That information saved me from mis-allocating my investments and I have Boogleheads to thank. I explained this to the Vanguard Planner and he actually agreed with me after seeing the evidence, so 80/20 it is. I assume he'll be able to better help others in the future as well...

He or she gets a very average by U.S. standards job, but it's more money than they've ever seen. Along with the job, they get seemingly limitless access to credit and other enticements to live beyond their means. They figure life in the U.S. is supposed to be about having a nice car, living in a decent sized house, eating out and going to movies frequently, regular family trips to Disneyland, etc. They then get locked into a lifestyle of perpetual debt, regular money crises, and so on. Your probably not going to heed this advice but you asked for it. Do you need wi-fi, cable, coffee, donuts, other similar fu-fu's, etc. for the mega-service station "experience" for the premium I suspect you're paying from a dealer I do not. As stated below, sometimes one has to got to a dealer, most times its not necessary to pay the premium that goes with that if you have a competent local shop. Good luck!

Thats unfortunate, I've seen 100% inflation in the last decade. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 240AAs11mq USA Petrol up from amongst everything else, up from 1.50 a gallon in 2002 to 3.50/4.00 (reg 87 oct location dependent) in 2013. It costs about 10% more on Cape Cod than inner city locations. I use bannanas, milk, and automobile fuel prices as my off the cuff inflation barometers, I'm not smart. I have seen 100% real inflation in the last decade. Could not be QE1, QE2, QE3..... Must be my eyes or location. I'm not going to attempt to make my case, with links n' such.
