Comparing fees and expenses

I follow Vanguard expenses and fees and love to compare outside our platform. In recent years, Portfolio Visualizer has shown my portfolio expense as 0.07% compared to the industry average of over 1%. Significant savings in expense ratios and even more savings in other fees. The newer PV still shows...

Re: Low Minimum Investment Account For Young Kids

Hey Laterstarter. My daughters income was not large enough to force her to file and she did not have any Federal withholding held to claim a refund. It has been fun to watch her accept some discipline to earn a few dollars, systematically save some and now flow some into the Roth. As I said, at this...

Re: Low Minimum Investment Account For Young Kids

My teenage daughter was interested in the Roth concept on top of her normal savings. I fed her some reading information and she was convinced. Opened a custodial Roth for her and she and I split the $1000 minimum to start with Vanguards Star Fund. VGSTX is a balanced fund at 60/40. She continues to ...

Actively managed EJ fund AALTX during a three year period of 2017-2019 had a CAGR of 11.3%. 10K of your money with the front load only invested $9425 and was worth $13,847 after three years. Vanguard VFIFX had a CAGR of 9.6% but you got to drop all 10K in and was worth $13,903 in the end. EJ loves t...

Have two Kohler 1.28 units. Took a bit of time getting used to the minimal water usage.
