Re: Just Ordered Peloton Bike
A $2000+ bike that doesn't come with pedals? You know, jogging is free and dumbbells are cheap. A decent yoga mat is $40. Why pay for the Peloton? Have you tried to buy dumbbells lately? They've been sold out everywhere since early March. Yeah, dumbbells, barbells, and kettlebells are really hard t...

Understanding the fine print will be helpful. What is the right of set-off rules? Could they give a certain notice (e.g. 30 days) to cancel, which may mean you may have to liquidate proceeds at a time you really don’t want to liquidate? Banks are in and out of securities lending due to regulatory ch...

Re: Frequency of bike overhaul or tune up
This question is dependent on how much you ride and how much you value performance. An overhaul can be expensive, but effectively they take apart your bike and clean each component part. This certainly prolongs the life of your bike. They degrease and grease hubs, clean drivetrain, etc. A tune-up is...

I didn’t read closely, but the “no fee” thing is a technical issue I believe as their are derivatives used whose cost does not need to be disclosed per the current regulations. The derivative is on a net basis rather than gross, so the “fee” is the cost of executing the derivative trade, which is 10...

Based on my N=1 1. Uber has more drivers in my city, so the wait to get a car seems better. This could be different by city. 2. Lyft charges you for the ride and tip in a single transaction, whereas Uber often separates ride and tip in separate transaction. This makes Uber a bit more of a pain for b...

Various sources are pretty consistent with how much of your portfolio should be in bonds vs your age. The recommendation from shows such as Cramer/Wealthtrack and the Bogleheads Wiki itself suggests that after age 40+ the bonds should be around 15-40% depending on risk tolerance. However, when I ch...
