So you think I should stick with bonds or CDs. The problem is buying bonds for novice investor is kind of tricky. But thanks for your reply.

I have $20k free for 3-5 years. Current Scenario:
22% tax bracket
Dependants: 4
Future Scenario:

Should I go with roth IRA and r401k as I four dependants now and later I am going to have only one dependent or it doesn't make any difference?
