Re: Best way to continually get SiriusXM Radio discount

Is this rate(the $60/year) for ONE radio/device only, or for multiple devices (car, home, phone, etc)? The ONE radio option is called the "Select" package, and the multiple devices package is called "All Access". Currently I see on the SiriusXM site that the $60/yr is for the Car, and the $99/yr is ...

Re: Portfolio Modeling Software

Now I want to do my own due diligence and create a model portfolio based off of the indexes each of my funds is tracking and compare that performance, including fees, to my current portfolio. I applaud your wish to prove this to yourself and figure it out on your own. However, your funds are very l...

Re: pros and cons for rollover to tIRA or other 401k from previous employer

Here's an old article I found (it's from 2016, but the process should be applicable now as well). https://thefinancebuff.com/the-backdoor-roth-ira-a-complete-how-to.html It states how one can Rollover the pre-tax portion of your Traditional IRA to an employer plan (I.e a qualified plan such as your ...

Re: American Funds Europacific Growth Fund R6 has been drastically outperforming Vanguard Total International Index fund

One point here. Even if we maintain a Large Growth spectrum, the American Fund had a return in 1999 that was twice as much over the Vanguard Growth Index fund. With the timeline starting in 1999 or 1998 and ending in 2019, the American Fund beats the Index Growth fund in CAGR per year. If you start ...

Re: 401(k) Matching Formula Question

The only way you would get the full match would be to contribute with every paycheck at least 3%, unless they have a true-up provision. What nolesrule stated earlier. I think that more than likely you have a "true-up provision". Which means if you max out the Pre-tax contribution in August and stay...

Re: Merrill Edge or Fidelity

Hello retired_tom, If you are in Non-Retirement accounts, you will take a significant tax-hit on any gains if you have to sell anything in the (non-retirement) ML accounts. An immediate strategy is to call the Advisor and tell them to shut off the Wrap-Fee of the Account(s) that have the 1.75% fee. ...

Re: It's not enough to mumble "Stay the Course"... INT'L Investing has been a disaster!

One point here, if I may (my first post on this forum...) I understand that there are several combinations one can backtest using the Indexes (using some combo of US, Intl, Bonds, Cash, etc) to get a usable Asset Allocation to invest in. However, has anyone checked their Asset Allocation results wit...
