That’s what I thought. Even though the rest of his advice has been excellent (we’ve been paying $100/mo retainer, AUM in addition after we started a taxable account) this does seem more per formative than anything else. I agree with other posters, and you should do an attitude check about if that's your description of a career in medicine, or the opinion of the young person you're inquiring for.
