Specific Disney fastpass suggestions

Based on some great posts I found on this site, we booked a short trip to Disneyworld in September (when school starts, hopefully it will be less crowded). We are taking a 9 year old girl, reasonably adventurous and we are staying on site. Our plan is to go early in the AM, take some rides on popula...

What’s your Value Colombian coffee?

I love coffee. Specifically Colombian coffee.

Recently I read an article that one should not buy bulk coffee at Costco as beans tend to lose flavor after 2 weeks.

Does anyone have a recommendation on some good value Colombian coffees that tend to turn on the shelf quickly?

Preferably whole bean?

How do you find a good Accountant?

I feel I have the time, energy, and with sites like this, the knowledge to manage my fairly simple portfolio. However, what I feel I do need for tax planning purposes is a good accountant.

How did those on this site find a GOOD accountant to help them tax plan for the near and long term?

I like the idea of possibly supplementing what I have with a $300k 20 year. The feedback has me thinking, thanks to all of you and any other input is welcome!

Re: $500k Term Life- get new policy?

Without debt and mortgage, 140k is a lot of spending. But, then again, you're doing extremely well. Are you including taxes on this spending? YES You have $3M in the bank. You could stop right now and support a ~$120k retirement (pretax, slightly aggressive). Let's say you get hit by a bus. Since y...

$500k Term Life- get new policy?

I currently am 8 years into a 20 year term policy. At age 50 and with I assume about 10 years to potentially provide some needs for my child, I am wondering if it is a good time to re up a 20 or 15 year term policy. My intentions would be to give some cushion to my wife and child if something happen...

Re: Can I break the tape in 5 years?????

Life is too short. You should absolutely not be working a job that is 'absolute misery' for the next 5 years, regardless of your level of net worth. The fact that you have $3.2M excluding your house makes it even crazier. I would suggest that you find a new job now that's more rewarding. With your ...

No mortgage but we could possibly spend $100k to buy a different house. We would pay cash.

turkman, welcome!

What will you be getting from Social Security?
Per the SS website if I receive 71% of my benefits at 70, it would be about $2750 per month

So I assume 24k annually is a safe bet

Can I break the tape in 5 years?????

Dear Bogleheads: First off, what a wonderful website and community for financial advice. I have learned a lot here and want to come out of the lurking shadows. A current post that I was reading makes me think about my own ability to retire in five years especially since our situation is very similar...
