I have been a slow adopter. Have been mailing checks till date but will start from next year.

Just learnt that our bank does offer over draft protection linked to their credit-card. So made the link today. They don't offer a LOC for over draft protection.

As others have suggested, you owe him nothing. It is your hard earned monies and you have the right to decide who and how you manage it. I would do nothing unless he reaches out to you. You can then thank him (if you wish to) and politely end the conversation. I wouldn't lose sleep over such things....
