Very cool. As a Fido customer, all I have to do is stand there and save money. :sharebeer And given the fierce competition out there, we should all benefit. Just for giggles, I’d like to figure out how much money I’m saving, but I’m not sure how to do that.

Re: Fidelity Files for two Fidelity ZERO℠ Funds (0.00% ER total stock and total international mutual funds)

I like Fidelity but the only problem is that they have too many funds. You need to drill down to find the hidden gems, like the Freedom Index funds or the good money market ones. They must have over 20 money market funds. It seems like they start a new fund every week. Dodge and Cox they are not. T...

They are going to be phasing out the investor and premium classes and just combining them into one MF.
Did they say when this is going to happen?
No they didn't say exactly. They just said they would be rolling them out soon.

Re: Fidelity Files for two Fidelity ZERO℠ Funds (0.00% ER total stock and total international mutual funds)

With the reduction in ER on their other index funds, it seems that the investor share class is now the same cost the same as the premium share class for the few funds I checked. Are the ERs the same between the two share classes for all index funds now? They are going to be phasing out the investor...

Re: Fidelity Files for two Fidelity ZERO℠ Funds (0.00% ER total stock and total international mutual funds)

One interesting part of the Fidelity press release is as follows: " industry’s first self-indexed mutual fund..." meaning that Fidelity will itself create the index to which the new funds will be managed. This is different than the major index funds today, which track externally created indexes, su...

Re: Fidelity Files for two Fidelity ZERO℠ Funds (0.00% ER total stock and total international mutual funds)

A couple pages in it says "There is no purchase minimum for shares of the fund offered in this prospectus." Is that right? Its hard to believe there will first dollar 0 ER funds. Not that I would complain. I was just on the Fidelity website and spoke with someone there and this does seem to be true...

Re: New Fidelity Fund 0.00 ER

More info will be available Aug 3. https://www.fidelity.com/why-fidelity/pricing-fees Would be curious if it makes sense to exchange out of current total US and total international with Fidelity for these. Will wait to see the holdings, etc. Also, wonder if this is limited (like premium) to over 10...

Not making any changes based on market conditions. Still contribute to 401k as scheduled. Still contribute to Roth IRA's as scheduled. Any extra goes into taxable.

I use a Fidelity Mutual Fund with very low expense, .06. I find it much simpler than buying individual I Bonds that way.

Re: Fidelity Money Market Funds for everyday expenses

I use Fidelity for all my banking and investing. The CMA is just their version of a checking account(even though it is still a brokerage account with all the benefits of that). Your funds are liquid thru the MM's and you can get debit cards and checks for both their CMA and regualr brokerage accounts.

Re: CA Muni bond fund - reinvest vs transfer to MMF

I also live in CA and invest in both CA Munis(CMF) and National Munis(MUB) at currently with a 75/25 split towards CMF in my taxable account/EF. My tax deferred accounts is where I keep my Total Bond Funds. I am happy with the Muni break down, because at some point I see myself leaving CA, probably ...

Re: MUB vs SHY For a taxable account [iShares National Muni Bond vs. 1-3 Year Treasury]

Thanks for your responses. I am currently in the 22% tax bracket and 9 percent state(CA). I know munis in that tax bracket are not as tax beneficial, but I have always just been a big muni fan. I split my muni funds between Ishares CA Muni(CMF) and Ishares National (MUB) with a 75/25 lean towards CM...

MUB vs SHY For a taxable account [iShares National Muni Bond vs. 1-3 Year Treasury]

Hi all,
Long time reader, but first post. I am curious for your input when it comes to holding MUB vs SHY in a taxable account. At this point my taxable is an extension of my EF, so I am looking for safer investments.
Thanks in advance.
