I have a Roth IRA and taxable account at vanguard. Looking at switching my i401k from 3rd party administrator to either etrade or td ameritrade.
Vanguard, schwabb and fidelity are no longer being considered for my i401k. No vanguard bc rollovers are not accepted and no admiral shares. No fidelity or schwabb bc there isn’t a Roth option.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of etrade and td ameritrade? I know they both do rollovers, they both do Roth option, and they both provide loan option (which I wouldn’t do).
I’d like to hear pros and cons of both from people who have used them. Thanks.

Solo 401k - fidelity vs. vanguard
I am moving my solo 401k over to either fidelity or vanguard. Currently there is about 120k in an account setup thru paychex. Paychex administers the account (whatever that means) and charges $325 annually. The current funds are fidelity m shares that have ER of 1.14% to 1.29%. The positive is their site is easy to use and transfer funds electronically each month. I am considering either moving it to vanguard or fidelity and want to know the pros and cons of both. An important note is that I recently transferred my Roth IRA to vanguard ($91k). That has approx 90/10 stocks to bond and is held in 4 funds: total us stock index admiral, total international stock index admiral, total us bond index admiral, and healthcare sector (3k, just for fun...

Re: Help picking funds
So my Roth officially transferred to vanguard. $91,227 in total. Here’s what I was thinking... please let me know your thoughts. $54k - total us stock admiral $24k - total international stock admiral $10,227 - total US bond $3k - healthcare sector fund That gives me close to 89% stock and 11% bond. I wanted to make sure I had admiral shares for the bond fund so it’s slightly higher than 10%. I thought I would throw a bit at healthcare sector, because it seems to have done the best overall and over last 10 yrs., just to mix it up slightly. The other question/slight concern I have is the return on these total index funds are lower than what it seems they would be with many other funds over same period of years. I understand the er is much low...

Help picking funds
I’m looking for some advice on my retirement fund picks. I’m 37, married, one toddler and another kid on the way. I have a $402k mortgage with 28 years left and owe about $382k, with monthly payment about $2500. We also have 3 years left on a vehicle loan @ $600/Mo. No other debt. I have $90k in a Roth IRA and $120k in a solo 401k. I also have 27k in a taxable account but I will be putting this into a money market so it can act as an emergency fund. I just transferred the Roth over from Northwestern Mutual where I was paying a total of 2.31% between expense ratio and management fee. The Roth transferred as a cash holding and I want a 90/10 stock to bond asset allocation. I’m considering, moving my solo 401k over but haven’t done so yet. It ...
