I prepaid 8 years worth of netflix 5 years ago during an promotion at about $2 a month and I have probably another year left with all the increase of the monthly fee. If I cancel, I probably cannot get those credit back as cash but once the promotion runs out I probably wont renew.

If Ally goes bust you’re set to lose $850k. I’d get under FDIC limits ASAP. Agreed that that's a lot of eggs in one basket, but OP may be under the FDIC limits depending on how the accounts are held at Ally (joint, with beneficiaries, etc.) OP: You can check your FDIC coverage at EDIE . exactly. At vanguard I used to put my spare cash in VMSXX (1.92% no federal tax?) instead of VMMXX (2.44% taxable?). I have moved to Fidelity but I couldn't seem to find any federal tax free MM funds that has yield close to VMSXX as they are mostly around 1.3 (FTEXX, 1.26%, no federal tax?). The difference i...

I agree with comments about a sole proprietor vs corporation. Keep it simple unless complexity is needed. Another simplification...........open a bank account that will be used just for this income and related expenses. It can just be another account at your current bank. That way she can keep trac...
