Re: Building a new house - Successes and regrets?

Wire for Ethernet/access points. WiFi doesn’t always cover the whole house. Get an AV / network guy or simply have 2 Cat 6 run with coax cable to any spot a pc or TV might go. A wired access point will give you better speed than wireless extenders.

I purchased 2 GE appliances last year from Costco . I saved a few bucks. Costco installation was less expensive. During the first year I needed warranty service through Costco Concierge covered by GE which was no problem. This year I needed service and Costco covered the repair. The warranties are e...

Re: Anyone Install MOCA for fios speed?

The Verizon WiFi MoCa extenders are great. I used them many times. Try to keep it to the WiFi router and one WiFi extender if you can. Two extenders maximum if you must to eliminate overlapping or shared WiFi channels which could create interference problems.

Re: Avis charging for existing damage on rental car

The last time I rented a car, the parking lot had cameras that automatically recorded the condition of the car’s exterior when I exited. The agent didn’t walk around with me beforehand. Any exterior damage was recorded by the car rental company prior to me leaving. Check to make sure they don’t have...

Good luck in NoVa. You won’t find much of a house for less that $500-600k. Dulles Toll Road, Hot Lanes, Greenway and 66 Tolls are very expensive. Try to find a place close to where you work. Traffic is murder.

Re: Home Depot vs. PC Richard to buy a refridgerator?

I have purchased major appliances from Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Costco. I would buy again from any of them. The delivery people will vary. Some are better than others. I managed to hit Home Depot online when a $1,259 sale price fridge was $998. FWIW I don’t buy Protection Plans but for a fridge under...

I would recommend Sonos and use Tidal or Spotify. Deezer is another hi def service. Much easier to use than a receiver based setup. Also you can add rooms. Setup is easy and quality much higher than Amazon Echo. Worldwide radio is free. Works from an app on your phone laptop or tablet. The world of ...

If it’s a good shop do it. If you don’t replace fluids now you will still need to in the future. Replacing a battery yourself can really suck. Worst is if you put off replacing the battery and it dies when you need the car.

Why is there this tendency to think of fast food as "bad for you"? At the end of the day, a burger is ground beef, bread, and some veggies and sauce. French fries are potatoes fried in vegetable oils. Most would agree that none of these food items are inherently bad. I think the problem i...

Re: Healthy fast food

Fast food restaurants don’t serve healthy food. They lie to you. Look up what McDonalds and IHOP actually serve you for “scrambled eggs.” for example. It’s tricky but there are small restaurants that actually fry eggs and have bacon and coffee and sometime fruit. BBQ places avoid sugary sauces, at p...

Speakers connect to the AV receiver. The iPhone will connect wirelessly to your Apple TV using Apple ...

Greetings. For the caged system or regular guitar playing there is not usually barreling of the G chord or the D chord.
