I spoke to one of their reps yesterday, and he quoted that the rate in the preferred deposit is now going up to 2.07%. The only "catch" as far as I can see is that you have to make a phone call for both deposits and withdrawals with same day settlement if calls are made before 4:30 pm ET.

triceratop, That's correct - the low risk I was referring to was the credit worthiness of the bank. The currency exposure risk is really the bigger risk here - but I am not as concerned with the cushion of an annual 7.5% return. I have looked around elsewhere too - there seem to be no clear ways of ...

Hello, Background: I am an Indian citizen, living and working in the US. I have been contributing to a Roth account through both the IRA backdoor and employee after tax option, and plan to continue doing this going forward. So some of the 2-3 year CDs offered through banks in India offer close to 7....
