Sorry I should have called him before posting. At my age I have problems remembering sometimes. :oops:

I did call him and he said it was a local tax of 2% on his $23,200 purchase so he ended up paying $464 to Nebraska.

Still was a surprise to him when he had to pay the unexpected tax.

I've been on Mineral Rights Forum for about twelve years and they don't charge a fee for sign up. Haven't used much in the last five years but previously used quite a bit. Just like on BH there are some knowledgeable people that can be of great help so you have nothing to lose by trying it.

Prior to Covid my wife and I attended a few luncheons with some of the Fidelity people.

When I had my heart surgery they sent me flowers which I thought was nice. Don't know how they found out I was even in the hospital. :confused

All great advise from the above comments and I don't have much to add except to say that I inquired into disability insurance MANY years ago and remember that one thing that's very important in a disability policy is the policy's definition of total disability.

Allstate- 5 million for $574.15 per year. Also have HO and Auto with them. No pool. Both of us retired in our 70's.
Had one lawsuit two years ago. They paid for some expensive attorneys which would have cost us a bundle.

No he's not near income limits for direct Roth and he probably won't be going back to work for a couple of years. All your other answers I totally agree with that I overlooked. We will also look into FXNAX.
