Time to purchase some bonds to fix my AA is it just BND or should I add some shorter term stuff?

I do need to add some bonds to my portfolio as I am past due to get that done and have all equities right now. Do I just add BND or should I be adding some more short term government bonds or something like that? Looking to fix my AA to around 70/30 stock/bond. Thanks in advance for the help. I do n...

This has been very eye opening for me so I appreciate all the views. I honestly thought with a 30k/yr travel budged we be living high off the hog and would be spending more than almost any others on travel :D Maybe we need to double it...I don't know. Traveling is our favorite thing to do together. ...

Good question I also am curious what others do. We are looking to FIRE in about 5-8 years and can see how you get to 120,000/yr on "core" house. Our single home core hits around 110,000 the big hitters are 25k health insurance, 30k travel, 11k income taxes, 5k home taxes, 10k food/alch/ent, 6k new v...

Re: Stretch Roth IRA - best path thru spousal rollover?

Thanks for the replies. I would leave equal parts to both of our children as contingent beneficiaries and eventually after a spousal roll-over they would bump up to primary bene's. I think the book was called Parlay your IRA into a family fortune or something along those lines. I think he is a real ...

Stretch Roth IRA - best path thru spousal rollover?

I finished reading a book by Ed Slott about parlaying your Roth IRA into many millions of dollars for future generations. The book is a little dated (2006ish I think) and I believe a few of the IRA and estate tax rules have changed since then however I think most of the concepts still work. The book...

Re: Rent or sell house

Thank you for the responses I think we will just sell and invest the proceeds. I am not even 100% sure I can get the $1900/month rent so if it was $1600/month instead the numbers would get pretty ugly compared to other options.

Rent or sell house

Can some of the real estate experts on here take a look at my numbers and tell me if I am forgetting anything? I am going to sell my house to move into the school district a couple miles away and am considering renting vs selling. I don't mind doing the maintenance or being a landlord so no issue wi...

For the guys who are trying to stay market neutral and putting growth in the taxable accounts how much are you allocating to small cap index and how much mid cap index?

Re: Around 43K in dividends last year - feel good about it ?

Hopefully I am not hijacking this post but I think I have similar needs and questions. In the last couple of years I have been able to start putting some real money into funding a non-qualified brokerage account (after maxing all qualified options). I own ITOT for the low fees and diversification ho...
